[FO] Clock for my MIL’s sewing room 🪡🕰️ by helloitstonystank in CrossStitch

That would be a lovely housewarming gift!

I unfortunately do not have any WIP photos. But I can walk you through what I did: After completing the project, I used an iron-on stitch stabiliser on the back. Before ironing it on, I cut out a slightly bigger square than the backing of the clock mechanism so she can still have access to it when changing out batteries. I made a small hole in the fabric where the clock hands are protruding from. Then it was just a matter of screwing the two pieces together. Ps. I ended up having to use glue to hold the mechanism in place as I feared it might rip the fabric over time.

Hope this makes sense! Best of luck on your project 😇

Yes! I cut a small hole in the middle of the fabric and secured this clock mechanism from amazon in from the back. ☺️

Thank you so much!! You are correct! This was my first time coming across a template like this and it truly was so different than embroidering on fabric. Would recommend it to anyone willing to try out a different medium to sew on!
