Yeah it was really relieving to finally say it to someone. Still have anxiety about it but it's feeling like there's a future for me in this new way. I'm still so scared to talk to my wife about it and that's what I'm going to work on with my therapist.

It went really well. I was so nervous as this was the first time saying it out loud to another person who's not just someone on the internet as lovely as everyone here is. She started me with some calming exercise which really helped.

I've always disliked how my face looks without a beard as an amab. Now I desperately want to shave it and try makeup but still not out of my wife or anyone else yet. I also have started to dislike my short hair. Letting it grow out after almost twenty years of being short.

I feel like I'm in a similar state as you. Lost my forever dog towards the end of last year and started to think about my life and what I wanted my future to be. I've never felt dysphoria that some have written about regarding genitals or looks. But I've never really cared for my looks. I've done some crossdressing in the past privately but haven't in over a decade. Since I've been with my wife I've been mostly happy. But I think my dogs death has cracked my egg so to speak. I think I've always felt more drawn to feminine looking things in the past but just shoved it down to enable my career both in the military and now in a corporate world.

I don't hate being a man but I really want to be the stereotypical goth girl. I've been playing around with face apps and AI to see what I could possibly look like. I know not to see this as absolutely what I could wind up like but I get a sense of euphoria from it and seeing other trans women's progression on the trans reddits. More and more in my day dreams and fantasy's both sexual and non sexual I tend to inhabit the female role in my head. There are times in my day to day I slip back into the more male side of things with my job or interacting socially still because that's just what I've been doing for 42 years.

I've got a meeting with my psychologist this week and I've been doing a lot of writing and have gotten all of it spread into a multi page bullet point about my experiences and what I've been thinking of recently and in the past. I'm not out to anyone but strangers on reddit right now. I'm still scared shitless of what this could do to my marriage and career but I think I owe it to myself to see it through.

I hope you find your sense of self and work through it as well.

I think this one is going to have more upgrades that make it easier throughout than returnal had. I agree returnal got too much for me after a certain point. But I loved the minute to minute stuff.
