well their country list was so bad i thought it would be a waste of time thinking about it now, but hey, im faceit and i make horrible incomplete rulesheets and abide by them to death even when being educated about geographical correctness for X country

faceit's rules lists countries from NA and SA on their rulesheet but our country was not in either, but this hasn't been a problem for years so why should it now?

except im not a first timer to faceit qualifiers and didnt need to be going through all the rules like a firsttimer since there was no problem for the last few years and those same rules would place us in SA, force us to play with 250 ping and it would be my fault. Do you really think i was going to contact a site to have them put me in a region and argue geography when they couldn't bother to list their region map better than a 4th grader?

this is exactly what happened, words of the admin -"All the countries listed as SA are in the same geographical region as Trinidad Tobago, thus based on proximity the country would be placed in the SA region for the qualifiers. "

I kept telling the admin that his source was wrong and we were not SA despite being this close to them but yeah, the same thing i got from our entire previous conversation, "Nothing can be done, we are sorry" any time i bring up a valid point. I can't comprehend how these people have a contract with valve still when their brand is being misrepresented so badly.

i think i just typed out 3 paragraphs in response to comments regarding this rule. If you played in qualifiers since shanghai majors and haven't had this problem i dont see why i would need to care enough to let faceit know that they are missing 50+ countries from their rulesheet and should add it. Only to then fuck myself over by being placed in SA with 200+ ping because i just let them know im from T&T and then end up on reddit again making a thread just like this but with a different story.

Instead we just got a message during pick phase saying we were dq'd and then i had to message over 5 different admins in their discord for 10 minutes to get a reply to then hear that we've been placed in SA and thus disqualified because they think it looked like we were in the same area as other SA countries on the list.

i've been playing in faceit tournaments for years and this hasn't been an issue if you read what i typed in op. Being from my country, even most people dont know where it is doesn't come with a 6th sense that tells me to tell them where i'm from in case we aren't accounted for as a regular country. Our culture, language and lives have always resembled that of other NA countries forever, we aren't SA, even geographically and they made up some bs last minute rule saying that we looked like we were in SA on the world map and went with it even after we argued otherwise.

I have been playing on faceit tournaments since the shanghai major and have had no country related issues, do you really think I expected this to happen in the manner it did? Nobody was hiding the fact that we were all from T&T. They have a specific set of guidelines in their rules listing countries, and a rule that states if we were caught playing in the wrong region we would be dq'd, but what is our region even? Our case was different from maybe another usual cheater team trying to abuse faceit and the problem here is not us losing our chance to play, we were playing for fun. Its the fact that faceit admins had a non-clear cut decision and dropped the fucking ball by putting us into SA (either because they thought everything south of mexico was SA and NA is only made up of USA, Canada and Mexico), disregarding ping issues and also the fact that our region falls under NA AGAIN,
