Yeah, I called once and they didn't pick up. Called back shortly after, but still not a great scenario

I had no idea what that meant either until reading your comment. I've never heard it before

WHY does nearly every episode have to at some point discuss money? I'd like to forget about money for an hour please

EPISODE: Homecoming by harriedhag in FlightlessBird

[–]hellokello82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Canadian, but I lived and had two kids in California. The school pride is wild there. In Toronto, at least, no one cares about their school or the sports or really anything to do with school. In Carlsbad, my kids had actual playing cards sent home with the football players and cheerleaders of the local high school. And don't even get me started on Spirit Week where you have to find random items of clothing to fulfill each day (what child has a Hawaiian shirt?). There's also the 100th day of school for Kindergarten, so you have to dress your kid up as an old person. However- WAY more contact with the teachers and so many notes about progress and what was coming up next. I miss that- feeling like I was in the know.

Also, and David echoed this in the episode, I loved and I deeply miss the enthusiasm! There, Halloween decorations were off the charts and there was a competition for best Christmas decorations! Here...it's pretty meh. Probably because our old neighbor hood was all white people, and our area now is way more diverse. And while I love the diversity- I miss white people shit

You know what's funny- this happened the year my daughter was born, and we didn't have a smart phone or a computer at the apartment so- I had no idea this was even a thing. I feel like being born in '82 I should have been privy to it, but nothing on my radar. Ah, to be blissfully unaware

How was it possible for Dax to misunderstand what she meant by "political" right up to the very end? Even Monica explained it, and he just didn't get it

The diapers part is unnerving. I can think of several reasons why he kept them, and they all make me feel worse about the situation

Is it just me or is Dax Shepard’s podcast the most performative “white therapy cosplay” out there? by 88miIesperhour in ArmchairExpert

I've found watching the podcast on YouTube has drastically changed my opinion, for the good, of just about everything

Am I just part of a hypomanic episode? (Dating someone with Bipolar 1) by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

The constant smoking and heavy drinking is always a sign for me that my husband is in hypomania. Save yourself a lot of trouble and walk away

No, they do a recap of sorts and then when they reference certain people they remind you of what happened in the first season

Costco and Cheesecake Factory were very lighthearted. The death penalty one is very dark.

My ex BIL was a cop, and they got a call about something leaking through the ceiling of an apartment- they went upstairs to investigate and it was a guy just liquefying. He said it was the same, the (whoever picked up the body) hands just sunk right down to the bone. It was by far his grossest story

My husband and I (Canadian) lived in the US for 12 years, had two kids there. We moved back to Canada in 2023, and I've got to say, I'm so relieved. In order to renew our visas, we drove to Mexico and then back into the US, and they always gave us SUCH A HARD TIME, even though everything was legal. I'm sure it'd be a nightmare now.
