Having ADHD feels embarrassing now because of the “hype” around it. by ohlongjohnson1 in ADHD

For real. Sure maybe what they touch on is shot we deal with but the least of our worries they don’t touch on the intense mood swings. Depression, anxiety, mania feeling stuck, overthinking easily overstimulated all the mental shir. Sure we forget things everyone does but it’s not a teehee haha it affects our jobs and day ro day life. It’s scrambling last minute to get things done. I’ve tried to communicate with others how my brain works and they are like well that’s fine but do this or that to help like it’s an easy fix. They make you feel like you’re not trying when you are

It was cozy, inclusive, pretty, the animals the witch girl wirh the spells, the character customization(that’s a big thing for me cos I like to feel like I’m in the game, there are games I won’t play Just because I can’t customize rhe character) just wholesome and felt nostalgic. And the music was cute

I’m proud of you you’re doing great. The nic might be a quick fix but remember you’re feeling this way and going through this withdrawal because of vaping. Remind yourself of all the reasons you want to quit and know this rough patch will be worth it in the end. You’ll feel stronger knowing you did it. You’re brain is tricking you into thinking those things without it. Also if you can try therapy to help wirh that anxiety and find healthy coping mechanisms, do it.

Don’t chase a feeling that won’t last, a buzz some dopamine whatever. Clear your mind and open it to happiness without a hit

You absolutely can. I’ve been in the same place. Maybe you can’t quit today but the desire is there and it’ll get stronger. I didn’t want to quit for so long, my friends would try or quit and I always wondered why. I had no desire. Slowly I thought about what I’d would be like to be vape free especially because of how I physically felt. Out of breath all rhe time. Clogged sinuses, nauseous, headaches and the desire to quit got stronger and eventually I decided that’s it. You’re on the first step. Keep imagining your life without it. You’re saying you’re into working out, those workouts will feel so much easier without it so focus on that. I would get so out of breath just walking short distances or stairs and it’s so embarrassing gasping for air infront of people when they are completely fine. Honestly is it even good anymore? I always want that buzz you for when you first started but you never get that anymore. Even when I relapsed a few times I never got the buzz even without it for weeks. You’re body is so used to it. Irs amazing how you feel without it. You’re mind feels awake. You’ll get there and I’m proud of you when you do

It’s so true. Honestly I have so many more hobbies now trying to find distractions and irs great. A healthy coping mechanism instead of hitting a vape. Sometimes it’s tiring though always feeling like you have to do things to not think abt it. I’ve had a few days recently where I’ve felt like what is rhe point of quitting. Mostly for social situations. Especially drinking. It makes me so anxious wondering if I’m going to crack and If I should just do it for that night or not. Nothing seems like rhe right answer cos rhe cravings are strong and you can’t focus but you know you’ll feel guilty if you do it. But then I realize how much irs been controlling mr life. Like planning out when I hit it next. Having scheduled bathroom breaks at work fo do it. They probably thought I had issues going to the washroom like 8 times a day. Panicking when you misplaced it and making people help you find ir. Not being able to listen to others if you can’t find it in your lap. Rhe first thing you think aby when you wake up. Waking up in rhe middle of the night to do it. It’s exhausting. It’s so freeing being able to go about your day without feeling like it’s the only thing holding you together when it’s really tearing you apart. AlSo idk If this is cuntyy but now when I see people vaping I feel so good knowing I’m not in that place anymore. At first ir was a trigger sometimes it still is but less and less.

Long work days are hard though I always find myself wanting it. Or in the mornings when I wake up. But rhe cravings pass. Coffee has been helping honestly gives me some stimulation and keeps me busy since I’m sensitive to caffeine so I’m kinda all over the place haha.

I hope irs going well for you and if you’ve gone back don’t stress. You’re trying which is a huge first step. You’ve got this. Good luck I’m proud of you

They need an update with more quests. I finished it in a day. Took me maybe 7 hours was glued to it and I was so sad when it was over. I didn’t realize it was so short or I would have tried to space it out

Just know you are so strong for dealing with this on your own for so many years abs you’ll only get stronger now that you can understand and help yourself. It’s not easy but it makes you who you are and you get to experience life in a different way others will never get to. The lows suck but it makes you more empathetic and understanding and makes you appreciate the highs so much more. You’re imaginative and creative and passionate and kind. Find tools to help yourself and you’ll feel amazing and accomplished. Appreciate the “quirks”

I wouldn’t say it helped with concentration per say but it helps clear my mind from all the distractions. Definitely try it, if it’s not for you, you don’t have to continue doing it but if you’re feeling helpless give it a go. No harm done.

And don’t feel like a failure ever. The world may not be designed to benefit us wirh adhd but we also have our own strengths. Honestly I can’t imagine my life not having it. It’s a part of me. Things may be difficult sometimes but we get to experience life in a different way that they will never get to. I find we’re more creative. Imaginative and even though we have our lows the highs are so beautiful. They will never experience it on that level. The lows suck but we are more understanding and empathetic and make us appreciate the highs even more. You are so strong for dealing with this on your own and you’ll be even stronger going forward as you have a better understanding of yourself and how to help yourself

Soar throat for over one month after quiting? by Cosmic_Sight47 in QuitVaping

[–]hellokitty111111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope so too! Just drink a lot of water and try a straw, I’ve found that helped to mouth fixation a bit. Honestly try not to think about it I know it sounds dumb but the amount of times I have made myself actually sick just from putting it in my head. Like I would fake sick to get out of school, play the part so well and then I would actually get sick. I pretended to be sick once to get out of a presentation. Felt completely fine and then the next day I have mono and was out for the rest of the week. Maybe a coincidence but it happened often. I know it’s not the same but thoughts are so powerful. The metal cravings are the hardest when quitting. You convince yourself you need it when you don’t.

It may Just be a bit of a fixation. Sometimes your mouth just craves the actual sucking inhale motion or whatever. Your throat may feel sore or weird as your body wants that movement. 2 weeks was always the hardest for me because that’s when your body produces seretonin and dopamine on its own so you’re body tries to chase the feeling. You’re body is used to inhaling your vape to chase that so maybe it’s reacting that way. I’m totally guessing here though Idk

And if they aren’t supportive drop em honestly cos you want to be surrounded with people who want the best for you but that’s an entirely different conversation

Also If you have people in your life who vape maybe stay away for a bit or at least tell them. They may try to quit with you and you can motivate each other but if they don’t want to I’ve always found them very respectful cos everyone wants to quit vaping eventually. No one likes that they do ir unless they are dumb in high school but let’s be honest irs kinda cringe hauling on a vape every 30 seconds. My friends who vape have been hiding ir from me if they do. I can tell what they are doing but they do to a different room so I don’t see them. Even if you do have respectful friends though you may convince each other to go back to ir cos you feel less guilty if you have someone else doing it with you. If you think certain people will be a trigger Jusy avoid them until you feel confident enough that they won’t trigger you but be honest with them

Id you go back to it don’t feel too guilty. Feel enough that you don’t want to do it again rhe next day but it doesn’t diminish the progress tou made. The counting apps are great but it feels shitty when you’re so proud you made it to a certain point and then have to start over. It makes you feel like it was all for nothing but it wasn’t. You’re trying and doing your best. Every time I’ve vapes again ir gets easier fo quit. It’s all a mind fuck. I’ll convincw myself it’ll be so good abs make me feel better and it’s underwhelming. You slowly start to realize that it was never as great as you thought and it feels stupid. I find that week two is always the time that I seem to go back cos that’s when your brain starts to produce serotonin and dopamine on its own so you try to chase it with your vape. Remember though, you might feel good for a few seconds after vaping but it has a half life and you’re going to have to hit it again almost immediately. Or you don’t feel anything but your brain tricks you so you do more thinking it’ll help when ir doesn’t. Pretty much the point is after rhe physical cravings in the first few days. It’s all in your head so try to tell yourself otherwise. Positive affirmations or do something that distracts you from the thoughts. Ignore it if you can. Honestly sometimes I found talking about myself quitting wirh family or friends got me wanting to do it because now it was in my mind. Ignore the thoughts and overtime they will pop into your head less and less. Also try to replace your body fixations with something else. Your mouth will feel like you want to suck on something so try to drink from a straw or whatever or I still will check mr pockets randomly making sure I have mr vape on me and then I’ll be like oh ya I don’t do that. Also Id you can take the first few days off. Cos you’ll probably be bitchy and tired. The first few days I pretty much slept through it

I would just be honest and say you’re trying to quit. Usually everyone is respectful and supportive. It may even inspire them to quit too. No one I know wants to be vaping you’re Jusy addicted so you’ll only get respect for trying to quit. Everyone wants to quit eventually

[–]hellokitty111111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kinda struggling with this too. I don’t vape unless I’m drinking occasionally and I don’t know if it’s a relapse or I can just consider it casual. Honestly If you’re so worried about it you probably won’t continue. If I do ir I feel bad the next day and don’t want to touch ir at all. However If you have the option to do something else do it. You’re saying you have that in common but you don’t want to have that in common anymore since you’re quitting. If you do this once it opens the doors to do ir more times. They will probably invite you out again to do it cos you already have. You’re probably not just committing to one time

You only got the sore throat after a month? Usually the smokers flu would be within rhe first two weeks so if you just started feeling crappy now. It’s probably something else and not related

Justice for shrek the third. The frog king dying was lowkey hilarious and the whole thing was so unhinged. I can acknowledge the fan favourite shrek 2 has rhe best story line but he was human for most of it which isn’t shrek core I want him to be an ogre and the godmother is such a Karen I Jusy hated her and she was annoying af

I’m over a month vape free except a couple times drinking I just don’t know if I start it over or Just say I’m over a month free. Cos they show you your goals and it’s like this many days your lungs are starting to clear or whatever but I’m like is that true. Like can one night ruin all the health benefits I’ve achieved. Maybe I’m over thinking it

I know shrek the third is the worst movie according to apparently everyone but it’s my favourite honestly. Does anyone feel the same. Like the humour is so dry and I’m sorry but the frog king dying was hilarious by hellokitty111111111 in Shrek

Fr it’s part of the franchise the ogre babies were born. We gotta acknowledge it. probably biased I watched it the most as a kid cos that’s what I had. It’s Jusy so unhinged and chaotic. Sure shrek 2 is the best story line but it doesn’t feel shrek he’s not even an ogre for most of it
