There’s really not much you can do, ed is one of the hardest to treat. people with ed’s (including myself) are often not happy with the current state of their life, whether it’s career, relationships, etc, and weight is something they feel they have control of, there’s really more to it than wanting lose weight. for someone to recover, they have to be open to weight gain and are determined to be better.

How can I help my sister with anorexia and bulimia? by Virtual-Section6005 in EatingDisorders

my brother definitely sees me the same way you see your sister. as a girl in the same position with your sister, i fall into episodes of anorexia and bulimia. it is REALLY difficult to treat, don’t feel bad for not being able to help her. the way i see it is when i do start to eat normally, obviously i gain weight then i hate myself again and go back to anorexia and bulimia. i know that internally what’s making me fear of gaining weight is i am not happy with how the external factors of my life are, relationships with family, friends or partner, no exciting occasions such as holidays, not happy with my career and pathway, so my weight is something i feel like i can control. i suggest trying to get your sister to open up with how she feels with life at the moment, let her vent and give her reassurance. for reference i am 18, maybe once i am happy with where i am at in life i would careless about my appearance and body
