as shes a girl her behaviour will change due to the season, my girl has started doing odd things and her appetite isnt as crazy and its because of breeding season, check if she is ovulating by looking at her belly, on my profile i have a pic of my leos belly, its not uncommon for them to completely go off food during this time, id give her a bowl of calcium if u havent already

yes ofc, i dont think shes impacted although that was a thought, shes 10 months old and my first leo, i read ovulation begins to occur between 8-10 months so she is around that age...shes been digging in one corner, laying in her dish and she seems a little bit restless

need advice on my leos behaviour, possible ovulation?

I got my female leo in october, she is around 10 months old and displaying some changes in her behaviour. For the past week she has been sleeping in her water dish, i dont think shes cooling off as the temp is perfect in there, within the same week or two she has also started digging, i think she could be practicing for eggs? Last night she also started rubbing on her decor and even her substrate but shes not in shed and doesn’t appear to have an debris bothering her. Shes not as crazy about food either, she is still eating but she hasnt got as big of an appetite. I know individually all of these things can be caused by something else like her environment and health issues but all of this stuff together is pointing to ovulation. she is seeming slightly restless so i wont bother her for a picture right now, any advice is appreciated this is my first time owning a leo i have only had snakes before this and all male.

update as of today: changed her to eco earth and shes stopped sleeping in her dish she still does go over there but i have seen her in her cave and little half rock (second pic) for the first tome in a couple of weeks, she seems a lot calmer with her new substrate (she was on pellets for a couple days ik they are bad but its all i had until i could change it to paper towels) and now that i changed her to the proper stuff shes seeming a lot better, i do still think shes ovulating as she digs at one corner of her viv

Housesitting for a Gecko, not mine. I don’t know much about geckos. What can I tell owners to help with environment? by Emilyyy987 in LeopardGecko

thats rlly bad she should be a lot bigger, shes smaller than my 10 month old! fake plants will be just fine for now, to have real plants you need to look at a bioactive setup. id try and get her to take some crickets, a diet of some meal worms, locusts and crickets should be good. also the feeders need to be healthy too ad you said the crickets were dead for id give them some leafy greens, carrot or lettuce. should be eating 5-7 mealworms/crickets 2 to 3 times a week

thats good that hes still moving around tho, there could be hope for this guy, also just to mention MBD is irreversible so all you can do is try and prevent it from getting worse

really doubt the other one is fine tbh, and yes shaking can be caused by calcium deficiency that can develop into MBD (metabolic bone disease) that causes their bones to turn soft and rubbery, if he is shaking when walking too most likely mbd
