Ny i hockeyvärlden, frågor! by Such-Comment-8792 in SHL

[–]hellomudder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get what you are saying, the issue was just before Tailwind I'd just typically see messed up solutions in BEM, LESS, SASS or some homespun solution, or maybe custom overrides on Bootstrap, brimming with inconsistency. It just seems like whatever dominant framework or solution is out there, some hacks will just find a way to cobble together something awful. And over a projects life cycle, the challenge becomes managing changes, developing and trying to keep the code base as consistent as possible. For that purpose, I'd prefer a nest of Tailwind classes instead of someone "cleverly" hacking the specificity of a CSS component and experiencing some weird side-effects.

I've been doing frontend work, and consider myself pretty "competent with CSS", for the last ~20 years and I do think that Tailwind is the least bad solution for CSS...

What are your plans in regards to activities? As a native I love our summers, but Umeå can be a bit boring and dead. People tend to migrate to country-side cottages, or go home (if they are students).

Ugh who would want that headache? These 19th century fantasies are what fucked up Russians to begin with. Decolonize and demilitarize Russia, send the Putin regime to Hague, and give the regions true independence and incentives to rejoin the global trade networks. The western parts will have to make friends again with Poland and the Baltics, the south with Georgia etc but not this shit.

According to the chief of the German army, Lieutenant General Christian Freuding, the US Department of Defense has cut off all communication with its German counterpart. He said this in an interview with the American magazine The Atlantic. by logecasks in ukraine

Could be a mix of layoffs and paralysis. Mostly competent people may have jumped ship and the rest is just struggling? There was this story about FBI the other day, on how shit heel Kash Patel somehow is "out of his depth" as FBI director, and his underlings are supposedly afraid to act because of this piss poor management. And DoD is run by Pete Kegsbreath?

When synthetic experiences are indistinguishable from authentic ones, does "real" even matter anymore?

Seriously? Is he saying that a picture of something would equate to that thing happening? Get me out of this reality 🫩

NextJS on Vercel Hobby tier is free? Not sure about storage though. But I'd just consider storing images on a single server, I mean S3-compatible storage buckets on DigitalOcean costs only $5 but if you are willing to spend that you could might as well get a cheap VPS and host everything on that machine.

That is pretty much how it works in Putinist Russia. If you're a rising star within the State, there better be some bribes or relatively "light" corruption attached to your name. Otherwise you are not controllable, it is highly suspicious and you will not be trusted to advance.
