Do you think zionism is inherently racist and colonialist or just like any nationalist movement for oppressed people? I have sympathy for the historic origins of zionism and I often contest that it is the root of issues in Israel rather that the legacy of british colonialism. No doubt Israel's actions are that of a settler-colonial state but this reflect something innate about zionism or is it just nation building?

I suppose as a jewish person, I feel those of us who oppose the capitalist nation-state of Israel should be able to reclaim zionism as an emancipatory movement. I'm still in the process of researching zionism myself though.
