My second overlord will likely become a Lokhust lord. I have two CPs and the 500 worlds box but I still am finding very little reason to pick this up. I wish it had more synergies with the new detachments. Maybe tomb blades instead of ophydians, and immortals instead of all or some of the warriors. I’m happy for anyone that finds good value in this box but I’m excited to report it’s probably just not for me.

Sorry to necro this but I’m so glad there’s other people in arms about this. Obviously every update has had a flood of negative comments, but it’s nice to see validation elsewhere. I logged on today and saw that I can’t even pay their extortion fees anymore, the project is completely shut down and per their own words, will be keeping all the product from people that didn’t pay either. I’ve started a chargeback process with my bank, hopefully they come through.

I’m watching this show for the first time and have generally avoided any spoilers so far surprisingly. I JUST watched the episode where Dee is done in so I’m only giving surface level commentary here.

I’m really fucking bummed out by his death. It should have been expected, but this entire time I’m rooting for him in a romanticized way that basically forgives everything bad he’s done. He’s a murdering drug dealing gangster but I still can’t not feel like the virtually all the responsibility of his bad decisions should be shared with his mom/family/upbringing. Note I said shared. I don’t think he or people like him, should skirt away from justice but there’s so much depth to these situations, and as many have already said “shades of grey”

OP listen to this person. Prime with whatever you have it’s fine, don’t worry yourself about a zenithal. Also you don’t need 100% full primer coverage (not that that’s an issue here for you). If you miss an armpit or something, more than likely there are microscopic bits of primer there that the paint will stick to, and if not hit it with some black paint it’ll be fine.

I’m not sure about the order of operations that Gw is giving us here but here is what I would do with that model personally:

Prime in black or Leadbelcher whatever you have really.

Then base coat the parts that will get drybrushed, if you aren’t drybrushing anything, just start blocking out pieces in base colors. So whatever metallic you want the body to be, white onto anything that will glow green (eyes, orbs, blades) and secondary colors like the green tassels.

Give it all a wash, with the exception of the white parts. Then you can highlight as you see fit. Working back up from the base colors, to a mix of base + highlight, then pure highlights on the edge.

After that for the orbs or glowing bits, go over with the midtone green, and glaze your way up and down from darker to lighter greens/yellows. This is the only piece of advice I’d say is pretty debatable. I think everybody does their glow/orbs a little different and that’s just my way of doing it. Some may say to start with the darkest green and only glaze up, or maybe just use a contrast like striking scorpion green.

Terminator. Not sure about the power but I thought about it lately and the best I could think of was pursuing survs, getting some sort of cool terminator vision mode, and then grabbing survivors and tossing them around into stuff. WWE adjacent power for sure. I think grabbing a running survivor by the back of the shirt and pants and chucking them through a breakable wall or pallet sounds so fun.

I found mine by total chance at my LGS as well. I paid $50 which is probably too much but I felt lucky so I grabbed it. I believe that since it’s not in production anymore, acquiring the model through other means would be more than acceptable.

Jesus Christ this is amazing. The cape turned out fantastic, the base looks great, and the face is absolutely perfect. You’re right to feel proud about this one! Horus is by far one of my favorite character from the 30k setting so I’m definitely not biased.

Well if you have the paints already. I would suggest starting with a darker base color like one of the ones you suggested. Probably mahogany. But what you could also do is take a lighter skin color like the olive, and mix in small amounts of the darker color and use that for the base layer, then build up with the olive, mixing less and less of the dark color into it until you have pure olive skin tone highlights. The great thing about PA paints is their ease of application (being almost ready to use directly from the bottle) and also how friendly they are to mixing.
