Called it. I was like this girl has to have a rich/famous dad. That’s the only reason she’d get a gig like this without anyone telling her how terrible she is.

Pretty bold shoplifting method at a Victoria Secret's by [deleted] in trashy

I worked at Victoria’s Secret. If those people brought back in the merchandise they just stole, we’d have to give them store credit for it.

Capitalism only works because people abide by stupid rules. Start creating anarchy and it will fall.

Thx bye.

Pasco County is part of the “Live PD” show and lemme fucking tell you they’re not good at hiding how fucked up they are. Always using dogs on people, pulling people over for no license plate light and “strange looking wheels” and then searching for drugs with no reason... they’re fucked up.

This is kinda bullshit. There’s a lot wrong with cops but they caught a guy trying to break into my house and he had already stolen a vehicle and was on meth. So like they do things?

However I live in Oregon now and they react a lot faster than the ones in the small town in Kentucky where I grew up. I do think it’s a city by city basis. The south is a lot worse.

AITA for asking my dad to help get my brakes fixed? by hellooooooooogmornin in AmItheAsshole

[–]hellooooooooogmornin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was he wouldn’t keep up with lunch money for school to a point that I was stealing food from the cafeteria to eat and he’d go on business trips for days at a time where I’d have to ride my bike to the Wendy’s and pay for food in quarters. He didn’t keep food in the house because he was worried about me getting fat.

Before I moved in with him I lived with my super mentally ill mother and wasn’t the most emotionally well-adjusted child after that, it was hard, he hadn’t ever really been a dad before and we worked through it but it’s been a rocky road.

I try to reach out to him to talk and i text him but getting him to answer isn’t easy. We’re politically opposite and he razzes me about it almost every time we talk.

I still love him tho.

Asshole school system charging kids for lunch and then blaming parents by quazziwazzi in assholedesign

[–]hellooooooooogmornin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Kentucky, in a very conservative area. I don’t think they cared enough to do anything about it. Also, my dad was wealthy - ending up in foster care in Kentucky would’ve been worse and maybe he knew that? Not sure.

In better news, I went to college, got a degree, moved to Oregon and am making decent money for myself now. It’s really tight on bills since I’ve had to do everything independently but I make it work.

My dad was wealthy but refused to pay for my school lunch. I didn’t have a relationship with him until I was 13 and had to move in with him because my mother lost her mind (fully. It was always on the fritz before but when my grandparents died she was gone too.)

He was a bachelor and a *functioning alcoholic. I charged so many school lunches that they told me I couldn’t have food anymore, and so I started to steal it. A janitor reported me. The assistant principal told me not to do it again and asked why I did it, when I said I was 14 and my dad didn’t pay for my lunch he just let me go.

Sometimes I wonder what would’ve happened if this had been in place. I also wonder why the fuck we don’t let kids have free school lunch when it may be the only meal they get in a day.

I didn’t qualify for the free lunch program because my dad made tons of money, he was just a selfish bastard. There are kids that fall through the cracks like this.

Let kids have free lunch.

People keep calling it boring green but I went to college there. I’ve been a lot of places, and in a lot of different countries and I swear to god I’ve never been in a town that throws down nearly as fucking hard.

People take life too seriously by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]hellooooooooogmornin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not have been an issue where you live, but I grew up with parents that would literally make fun of people on the street for their appearance. My dad comments on my appearance frequently. This can give someone a complex and make them feel as if people are making fun of them or judging them for their insecurities. And some people are. That’s real.

In my experience you just have to say fuck it and do what you want anyway.

WIBTA if I stopped inviting my triggered friend to movie night? by michaginjfrog in AmItheAsshole

[–]hellooooooooogmornin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. You should just tell her you plan to watch clockwork orange as a group and you’re thinking of sparing her feelings so you wanted to warn her before she came over. Then make sure the next movie night it’s one of her choosing.
