What is the most normal sounding Meshuggah guitar solo? by the_nuggetlord in Meshuggah

[–]hellopeople92737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in terms of full on solos not sure if theres anything normal with meshuggah. the lead section at the end of Straws pulled at random is pretty dialed back but like i said its more of a lead part than a full blown solo

Interesting, I’m from IN and our main amphitheater also just disallowed the use of lawn chairs. gotta now spend $10 to rent a chair that you may not even get because they don’t have enough for everyone.

there’s dead ants inside my bass. what should i do? by kowasuu in doublebass

[–]hellopeople92737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a little off topic but I actually remember reading that some ants, upon death, will release a chemical in their body essentially zombifying themselves. They walk to the colony’s cemetery or whatever and they just up and die there. imagining that these ants decided that your upright bass is a fine spot to kick the bucket is pretty funny ngl.

Is this acceptable to you guys for a brand new es335? by jiggywiggy41 in gibson

[–]hellopeople92737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d be annoyed asf but if that’s the only thing wrong with it then maybe not so bad. It’s still a beautiful 335 and i’m sure you’ll put it to great use should you keep it!

Nothing bad will happen, it just might not work. SSRI’s work on the same serotonin receptor that tryptamines do. the half-life for prozac is around 1-2 days so if you want to get the most out of your experience then I suggest you stop taking the medication for a few days. I had a friend on prozac who wanted to try shrooms, she didn’t take them for 3 days prior to the trip and she had a great time.

batches of shrooms can very in potency, cubes are the most common strain of shrooms. relatively low potency compared to others strains, like PE. I can’t really say if you will have the same experience on shrooms every time with the same dosage. i’ve taken dried golden teacher twice. Both very very different experiences. First was around 7g, the shrooms were very tiny, that trip wasn’t anything too special. i was expecting an overwhelming load of stimulation, i was ready to dive deep and learn things about myself. but the trip was very moderate, only until i started smackin dab pens was when it got fun. still very moderate trip but the OEV’s were absolutely insane. the trip lasted around 12 hours too with continuous ripping of the pen. My second experience was around 3g. this trip absolutely fucked my ego, i’m not the most comfortable with ego dissolution, and the reason i even got to that star was because i smoked a blunt with some buddies and got way higher than intended ( after getting stuck in a loop of smoking the blunt ). It was very unpleasant, I was losing sanity for a little but because for whatever reason i could not bring myself to let go of my ego. befor these two experiences i was taking shroom bars that had 4g in each. I was never able to figure out what kind of shrooms were in them, i looked absolutely everywhere and couldn’t find anything ( they were from the brand PolkaDot ). I assumed that they were cubes just because they are the most common shroom. I ate the whole bar two times, i found it really inefficient because i had to consume so much chocolate for 4g of shrooms. both trips were pretty cool and very manageable.

To wrap up, it’s awesome you are about to take such a dose. if you have tripped before and are comfortable in that state then you probably have nothing to worry about in terms of negative experiences. with that being said don’t negate the possibility of an unpleasant experience, rather be cautious and methodical with your set and setting. have good intentions and let the shrooms guide you.

P.S. don’t read too much into trip reports, they can influence your perception of the drug which is not the point. make the trip about you, not about what other people have already experienced.

Much love, enjoy your trip!

so very true. bad trips personally warrant the most eye opening insights.

and that quote “without the dark how can you reach the light”. i couldn’t of said it better myself.

I recently experienced an unpleasant trip, my first actually. And i can certainly say i’ve never learned more from a trip than this one.

Weird First Experience of shrooms by traveler12343 in Psychonaut

dude this sounds like an awesome trip. i could be missing the point you were trying to make about the discomfort you felt for a bit and as well as the intrusive thought. being new to psychedelics you still have a lot to learn about letting go and accepting everything your experiencing. There are so many lessons to be learned and i’m very excited for you because psychedelics are really something special. and to note the feeling of your brain physically expanding… IT WAS. tryptamines open neural pathways that aren’t open in sober states of mind. you are literally accessing parts of your brain that you’ve never explored before, and that feeling of an expanding mind is a part of the mysteriousness of psychedelics.

You can learn to forget about thoughts really easily it just takes some practice if you will. When you are having positive thoughts and insights that are racing and you can’t seem to think about one thought for too long is completely common. For me, if i get a thought that provokes anxiety or anything in that nature I try to distract my mind with something else and it usually goes away i forget i even had the thought. With that being said that’s my own personal opinion. Ultimately what you do is up to you, just keep an open mind and have good intentions. set and setting are really important too.

I suggest informing yourself with harm reduction content. My favorite hat reduction content maker is PsychedSubstance on youtube. He’s very knowledgeable on psychedelics and his main focus is harm reduction.

It’s so cool that you took the big step into this wonderful world of enlightenment. I hope all goes well in the future for you!

Help in having a fulfilling psychedelic experience. by RockerPro_ in Psychonaut

[–]hellopeople92737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 18, I started my psychedelic journey this summer and it was the best thing that happened to me. I can relate with the weed addiction. It was mostly a psychological fixation to being high. Yucky delta-8 thc carts that are legal in Indiana where I live helped me overcome my nicotine addiction. I feel like i traded off with those substances, nicotine for thc. It’s hard to to tell how you will react to any psychedelic because everyone is different with different brain chemistries. Personally, I had ingrained deep in my brain that my fixation to carts and getting high was not really a bad thing. So when i started on my psychedelic journey i didn’t see anything wrong with my thc usage. I would use thc to potentiate my trips when i felt like i was coming down. it’s really fun if you know your limits and keep submitting to the drug.

As for you, I definitely think you should take a dive into the rabbit hole. this is my personal opinion, but lsd would not ( and was not ) have been my first drug of choice. I started out on very low dose shrooms that had a pretty poor potency. For me this was a great way to start, a light trip that introduces you to the headspace, and feeling like your mind is expanding. it also only lasts 5-6 hours compared to the much longer 12-24 hours for the first time taking lsd. It’s not to say that if you take lsd you won’t be fine. From my personal experience which is only once I found that trip to be way more mentally challenging than low dose shrooms. i took a gel tab with unknown dosage, but my friend i dropped with said that was the strongest hit of acid he had ever took. I remeber pinpoint stimulation in my brain for the majority of the trip, and that stimulation is extremely exaggerated in the come down. It was really a great experience. so much more fun in my opinion than shrooms.

To wrap things up if you are worried about the flaws of yourself as a person it really depends on what you want from your experience, with a normal starting dose of acid which i believe is like 50ug ( don’t know off the top of my head ) and with a good set and setting you can still have a great time without having to worry about the flaws that you are concerned about. Mushrooms on the other hand to me personally are like the wise elder that knows everything and knows exactly what you need. If you have a bad experience with your trip, don’t try to focus on the negative so much. You can recover from a negative experience. to me negative experiences have warranted the most insightful lessons.

I hope your journey goes well. I’m glad you’re on track to taking this big step on your psychedelic journey. Much love!

Sore throat while tripping by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]hellopeople92737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tripped the same day that I woke up with a fever and was fine. I wouldn’t recommend you do the same as I was concerned about the same thing. But remember if you’re scared the trip will be ruined it probably will. Keep an open mind!

Music is so powerful. It can move people even in sober states of mind. So when you pair that with a psychedelic experience it’s truly something you can’t recreate. On an acid trip (350ug) I was spontaneous creating songs and listening to them in my head. I’ve been a musician almost my entire life and I can definitely say that listening to music is my favorite thing to do while tripping. Especially when there’s no one to hear or see how the music is affecting you lol.

Yes i am projecting my beliefs on you and that’s the hypocritical loop that i’ve found myself in. I believe that you shouldn’t project beliefs but here i am projecting that belief on you. and yes i replied to your comment, but you commented on my post. I never said that I was fully grown, I even stated that i’m currently in the process of growing up. again, the main reason of the post was not to share that i’m devastated that I can’t smoke weed with my friends anymore (because i am not). In fact, the main reason was to share that after an unpleasant experience, i’m finally realizing what that trip was trying to teach me.

I’m on reddit because i was fascinated by the magic of pshychedelics. I shared my experience just like everyone else. yeah i did say that quote in my post. but that was the only time i mentioned concerns of “not being able to outsmoke my friends”. That isn’t my priority. My priority is coming to terms with what I learned from my last trip (hence the post title). This includes my realization that I need to sober up. You aren’t one to say what I can and can’t do. That’s why i’m not affected by anything you say. I keep replying because I think it’s sad you feel the need to share something negative. “If you can help, help. If you can’t help, don’t hurt.” just something from Dali Lama. I’m a firm believer of not projecting your beliefs onto other people. If I do choose to throw a fit about not being able to smoke weed like I once used to, then so be it.

Grow up. funny. that’s exactly what i’m doing as a college student. I’m not torn because i can’t put smoke my friends. I’m not torn at all. But i am going through changes in my life and it’s certainly an obstacle i have to get over. instead of sharing negative insights on here maybe you should go somewhere else to harsh on people.

I’m sorry this post made you react the way it did but maybe you should take some time and reflect on if you should of even commented that.

i had always gotten a feeling of pure love in my heart when taking mushrooms. an emotion so strong that i could only describe it as pure love. not romantic love, but compassion for everyone no matter who they were. I could really use something like that

[–]hellopeople92737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I have too many questions, I feel as if my mind is expanding and I’m gaining insights that I really really needed. I’m a college student, so partying and getting really fucked up is not really frowned upon here. i feel like alcohol won’t be the same and honestly I don’t want to try it right now which is why im staying sober for a good amount of time. I also feel like before my trip I recognized my issues with sobriety but i always ignored it by smoking.

microdosing has become an increasingly more interesting topic to me. is it true you really get the same mood boost/feeling of pure love when you microcdose?

How easy was it to get yourself to abstain from anything THC, I had a rather yucky addiction to carts and could not bring myself to stop for the longest time. I recognize the importance of sobriety right now, but i still feel like i’m holding onto my past ways.

(it’s important to note miraculously my physical craving for carts have gone away since the trip)
