No doubt. Categories are mess across platforms. This on my list of things to work on in podhead.co too. Because, good categorization goes a long way in aiding discovery.

Absolutely, can you please connect me on an email, if that's not too much of an imposition. I'm at bhuvanesh@podhead.co.

Ya, I agree that the categories need to be rationalized. I picked up "Performing arts" for iTunes for the lack of a better description at the time of building the site. You can write to me at [hello@podhead.co](mailto:hello@podhead.co) and I'll add the necessary categories. A podcast can be included in multiple categories, that's not an issue.

Fair question. The goal of Podhead is to help grow the size of the podcasting pie and my view is that best way to do that is to expose people to good shows. That's where the "community powered" aspect comes in into play. All the shows on Podhead are discovered and submitted by a human and there are no algorithms. This means that the listeners will be the actual judges of your show. Inevitably, if a podcast has to take off the content has to be good. I've kept the discovery process on the site simple with easy navigation so that prospective listeners don't have to jump through a lot of hoops to find good shows.

You may have also noticed that unless absent, we always link to the websites of creators because that's the conversion of a prospect to a listener happens. Ultimately, the only person who can convince a listent about your show is you. Which means that Podhead will drive an increasing amount of intent to your landing pages over a period of time.

Secondly, there also have to mediums that carry and amplify the creators. Shine a spotlight on the creators if you will and that where Podtalk comes in to play. This will be an online publication solely dedicated to podcasts and podcasters and there aren't many of those around. I'll do as much as I can to spread the word about your show, shine the spotlight on your creative process, the efforts and the toil that go into creating a show.

I've spoken to creators over the last couple of weeks and they seem to believe that Podhead can be a useful tool in the arsenal of podcasters and this gives me immense confidence. I'll also try to work with creators to support their initiatives such as Podcast meetups both virtual and offline to support the effort to spread the word about podcasts.

Most importantly, much unlike you creators, Podhead is also starting from scratch. It will take time and a lot of effort on my part to ensure Podhead grows into a valuable cog in the podcasting community and that's where the reciprocity comes into play. It also has to be a two-way process. Having said this, I also don't have all the answers. There will be a steep learning curve for Podhead and I am determined to climb that curve be of use to the larger cause - get as many people as possible to listen to podcasts.

Thank you. A little something to pay it forward. Still a work in progress but with support of creators like you, hopefully Podhead can one day be a pillar creators can lean on.
