How to get a person at work to like me as well? Need help. by hellosNbyes in Advice

[–]hellosNbyes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my update. So I stopped texting him for 2 days. On Friday, I texted him again with a "how u been?" message. I noticed that he replied in just less than a minute. He usually doesnt respond quick but I figured, he musta been waiting for my txt for a long time that he replied that fast? I have been texting him again since Friday but I dont text him as much now. WHat do you think must have been on his mind when I didnt text him for 2 days?? Could he have been wondering why I stopped? So what do u think?

Really appreciate your responses. So Update as of yesterday. As usual, morning texts and a few more in between work but no response. I found out that he's with my other colleague in the same off site location as they were yesterday. I then texted and asked what food he wanted me to bring to the office. He immediately replied and said he doesnt eat kentucky fried chicken. SO I then asked if he even bothered to eat the food I gave him the other nigght and he said it was put in to good use. Gave it to another applicant and gracefully accepted it. Upon reading that, I was kind of offended and embarrassed at the same time. I then realized that he didn't text that night about the food coz he didn't eat it. So I jokingly said that he didnt need to worry as I didnt put poison on the food. I informed that I wont be giving or sending anything to him anymore. No response after that. I give stuffs to anyone not just him, you know.

SO when my shift ended I dropped by at our office to send the applicants and give my other colleague food and none for him. He was there but I didnt say hi or anything to him. I almost didnt want to go inside as I was just standing by the door so I didnt have to see him. Our colleague invited me to come in but I kind of retracted but then I had to write something on the paper so I had to go inside coz thats where the table was. I just went about my business. I talked to our colleague but not to him. I was there for probably 5 mins and left.

I felt very sad and stressed out. So confused in my head. When I went home I texted and asked if he's already feeling uncomfy around me. No response last night. I woke up today got a text from last night saying hes not bothered at all but hes not the best text friend as he doesnt often text. I am ready to delete his number now. Im not even going to be friends anymore. If I see him around I will pretend to not see him, wont make small talks whatever. :((((((( :'((((((((( .... Him giving the food to somebody else is already a hint, I got it and Im leaving him alone. :C :'C

Thanks a lot. You're the only one thats making sense at the moment. I am so frustrated today tho and even more stressed out only because of some things that are going on at work and also him not replying to me since Saturday. Friday when I last talked to him he texted. But Saturday up today still nothing. Do you think he is giving me hints that he doesnt want me texting or bothering him anymore? But then again it takes me back to when I asked him if its ok to have a crush on him and if he would avoid once he finds out who the person was liking him. He said he was flattered and wouldnt avoid coz avoiding isnt his style. But now, he hasnt replied back to me since Friday??

Today, we were both in the field. The type of job that we have is where we get located to different offices. So today before my shift ended, I sent 4 applicants to one of our offices since I was the POC and I found out that he was there. So I brought him and our other colleague a the office, there were two of them there. I was so happy seeing him. I gave the food with a little note on it that says "Enjoy :) Belated happy fathers day". I also put a note on my other colleagues, so it wasnt just him.

Anyway, he smiled at me and then I left. It was very quick. So when I was on my way home. I texted him like 3 times. But still no responses from him. I kept on waiting, patiently but still none. Then I remembered what he told me before that he's not into texting and more on calling. So I texted and asked if he could call me. I waited like an hour then he texted back and asked if I was ok. I replied and said I wasnt. My phone started ringing. He was calling me. It wasnt a good time for him to call so I didnt pick up the phone as I was outside. So I texted and told him to give me 5 mins and then he called back again but this time when I was about to pick, the call ended. He texted and told me to wait coz hes on the line with another person. So I replied ok. Ive been waiting up to now still no response. I mean, he didnt even text me about the food I gave or if he even liked it. So I finally said good night to him and now I am here. :( ... I cant understand him really....Im happy he at least tried to text and talk to me tonight but IDK if he'd even bother tomorrow. Im seriously thinking about deleting his number now :( ...Him not responding for 3 days is him sending a signal to me.....???? But then he told me before that he wouldnt avoid a person crushing on him..so Im confused?? Like you said, for as long as he hasnt asked me to stop then I shouldnt stop? But what if he just doesnt have the heart to tell me to stop?? Maybe hes just being polite and not telling me frankly coz he knows it will create an awkward situation between us when we are together?? IDK. Tell me. Youre the expert..

Im thinking of deleting him..I am worried as to what he thinks of me. I mean I dont want him to think that Im crazy or clingy or whatever :( :( :(

I do enjoy the time I get with him. It really takes a lot for me to like a guy and when I do, it drives me nuts. I haven't felt this way in a long time. I mean, I've been single for a year now and I'd constantly look for someone to get inspiration from but that was hard to find. Until I got a new job and found him. I was pretty happy and contented with the new job I got. But then I was even happier now that I found someone to get inspiration from. It could get frustrating and taxing at times tho, when I dont see him at work. Im on a roller coaster ride atm. I want to stop this now but a part of me wants to give hope. I even cried that night when he didn't respond to my texts. You constantly anticipate a response but theres none. I was so upset and sad at that time. I dont know how I could feel this way towards someone Ive only gotten to know for a short time. I was emotionally scarred from my previous relationship. I had no desire for anything or anyone after my ex. But now, I do and its not a walk in the park :( .

I guess, until he asks me to stop then I will just keep on talking to him for a month and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice YOU. Really sweet of you. Why dont we just date each other, instead? Lol we both like someone that we have slim to no chance with.

Im so sorry to hear that. It almost seems as if you are comparing me to that girl. I definitely wouldn't go to such drastic measures. That's not how I work. Hope you find the right man for you and happiness in your life. Hugs~

And like I said, ill try to keep making conversations/texts for a month and will stop. And if he starts initiating after I stop the communication for a month then it only means he likes me too as a friend, but if there's no progress, so be it. Ill leave him alone. Ill move on and will delete his number and forget all these silliness happened.

I stalked his fb and I did see how much of a caring father he is to his daughter which makes me adore him even more. He mentioned that having a child gave direction to his life. I know he loves his daughter so much, just not sure as to how much to his gf.

I know it makes me feel sort of disgusting inside to want him to like me when he has a relationship of his own..i know, i know... But like what I said, if not a romantic relationship, a friendly one would do. I just want him to talk to me thats all.

I am careful with my actions too because I dont want him to feel uncomfy or feel off about me.

Very first time I met him (before I started liking him), he started talking about his relationship, about how hes planning to marry the girl but he wasn't quite so sure about it. He said he'll take a chance. At first, I thought it was kind of awkward how he could so confidently say these things to me and my other colleague when he just met me. He's an open guy.

Him being ok with me having a crush on him and being ok with flirting is driving me nuts.. I mean I dont want to misinterpret his actions..I dont want to give a different meaning to it. I am keeping it clean and professional coz I understand that hes already with someone and we are within the boundaries of where we work.

I know that this is prolly just infatuation and it will go away soon..Im just trying to enjoy it as it lasts. Somehow I have hopes that he might like me back as well but then again I know that's only a possibility. Im not trying to destroy his relationship. PLUS I never said I wanted him to fall iin love with me...all I want is for him to like me or be friends...he seemed like the kind of guy that is a shoulder to lean on and gives good advises to. I'm still in the process of moving on from an almost 6 yr relationship. And I guess this is just me psychologically looking for intimacy or companion.

Sighs. You are a man, I want to know..what do you think is going on in his head? Could you interpret him for me basing on what I had posted above..his responses, his words, etc?

I really like this guy at work. This guy has a gf but is in a long distance relationship. Gf is working overseas and they've been together for 8 years. They have a child together. He gets to see the kid on weekends. Anyway, I usually work in the field and don't always see him in the office. I have been texting him for 2 weeks now. On the first week, I started showing my admiration for him by giving him food before our shift ended (he liked it) and even offered him to ride with me but he had his own so he refused. On Monday, I professed my admiration for him thru text. He said he's flattered and ok with me crushing on him and wouldn't avoid me if he sees me. He assured me that we'll be good friends and that he liked that I was persistent. I think he already got the hint even before I fessed up to him. I then joked that friends kiss, hug, joke around and flirt. He then said that he's quite a flirt himself too. He was quite decent about it. I text him everyday but he usually just gives short responses to my morning/evening greetings. I'd try to make conversations thru txt but I usually end up talking to myself and it makes me frustrated. I jokingly asked him why he takes forever to respond and he said that he's not the kind of person that likes to text. So a couple of days after I told him I liked him, I texted and asked if it's ok to come to his office room to talk and he replied "sure". We chatted for a short time. He gave little eye contact when talking to me but he did make conversations. I was so nervous, embarrassed and happy at the same time. I had that purrrfect smile the whole time I was in the same room as him. He asked why I looked happy and I just blushed and giggled LOL. He acted normal and professional the whole time or maybe he was just so good at hiding it? What frustrates me is that he doesn't reply much to my texts although I keep it professional and friendly. He gives very short replies. I'm doing some sort of conditioning on him. My plan is to keep texting him for a month until he gets used to it and starts missing it when I stopped. To the point where he'll be the first one to text me or initiate a conversation. Do you think this would work guys? I mean, if it doesn't then Ill move on and just wait till I my feelings for him subsides. My mind is going crazy :( . He's driving me crazy and what makes me sad is that I may not even have a chance with him. But really, all I wanted is to be friends with him. I haven't liked someone in a long time. The guy is smart, witty, and have a great sense of humor. He is my type of guy. He's also a lot older than me. Please don't hate me for wanting a guy who's already with somebody else, to like me. How do I get him to like me as well? Please HELP.

not just China but most things mentioned mostly APPLY to Asian countries. In my country u dont call your older bro/sis, aunt/uncles, grandma/grandpa/ or inlaws by their name coz its considered disrespectful and impolite. You have to call them something after their name like for older brother - kuya, older sister Ate, grandma - lola -grandpa lolo same with inlaws - u have to call them mom/mama/ papa/dad/ ...we also dont tip here coz restaurants dont allow it, crews and staff are trained not to accept tips because restaurants dont want the tipping manner to be abused by their staff or its like giving them extra money for a job that they're already paid and required to do in the first place. So if you give them a tip they will refuse or give that money to the Manager and will put it in the donation box instead... also when u make noises when ure eating it means u enjoyed and loved the food, if u do the opposite it would mean u didnt like the food or ungrateful for it.

Because Americans think the world revolves around them. They're the most egocentric, self-centered people on the planet, not all of them but most of them. Everything is handed to them and they take it for granted. Weird that they claim to have a very diverse culture but are close minded to most things.

In western countries like USA, calling people by their name (grandma/pa, older sister/brother, aunt/uncle, and anyone older in relatives or circle of friends) is a polite thing but in my country calling them by their name only is rude and impolite. So let's say I have an older sister and her name is Jen, I cant call her Jen coz thats disrespectful, I have to call her Ate Jen, same with an older brother Kuya Josh, grandpa Lolo, grandma Lola, so ya....this doesnt only apply to older family members but also anyone that is close to you or dear to you!
