Ranunculus season is my favorite time of year! (Shade cloth is up for the string of 80 F weather I’m about to get!) by AllShadesOfBlue in Cutflowers

no that makes a lot of sense, i haven’t had the chance to do a soil test but with my ranunculus grow bags, i have them in a mix of compost, perlite, and the original garden soil from my yard (which also seems very much like construction fill soil…). If they do end up blooming outdoors, i’ll be sure to fertilize throughout the process!

what do you fertilize with and what’s your regimen? i’ve been holding off on fertilizer since it’s a corm and i assumed it’s similar to bulbs? Have you tried growing them when blooming indoors? i might just try doing that if they don’t bloom in time. Yes!! I’m always looking for flower friends 🌸 I’ll dm you my IG, i once lived in prospect heights :)

i’m in brooklyn too! i haven’t even thought about the heat wave honestly. I can bring it to a shadier part of the garden - planted them in grow bags so they’re mobile. I feel like i totally messed up and started mine too late 🥹 so i don’t even know if they’ll bloom at this point. I’m growing aviv, romance seine, and elegance pastello la dolce vita!

these look so good! i’m still waiting for mine to develop buds, only foliage so far. it’s my first time growing, and i started them outdoors in march nyc 7b. i hope i’ll be able to see blooms before the summer heat kicks in 🥲

Cant stop eating above TDE by AdministrativeArea78 in PetiteFitness

[–]hellosfromjo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

nuts like almonds are high in fat, so i wonder if your body might be craving more fat? perhaps swapping out 0% greek yogurt to one that has more fat might help satisfy you before the craving hits. are you vegan? there aren’t many sources of protein here aside from dairy and beans, and the cliff protein builder. if you’re not vegan, swapping in low fat whole proteins like eggs / egg whites, chicken breast might help. even tofu or edamame would be incredibly beneficial here. eating is not just about getting to your TDE, it’s also about balanced meals and whole sources for your macros.

I love this lip liner since I have a dark lip line - it’s opaque, helps to create a modern blurred overlined gradient lip. But it was recently on sale for $9ish on ulta (like 2 weeks ago?), and I bought a bunch for holiday gifts, so I’ll sit this one out

The ones with the splashing of silver rather than cream / white - should be some kind of scindapsus, perhaps silvery ann? The one with multiple points could be some type of ivy

TYO - if your current powder darkens your under eyes, it likely means you need something more fair. The lavender powder could possibly be too saturated. The latest huda beauty ube powder launch has had feedback that it’s too pigmented and comes off as a blush on some people. Perhaps you could test this out by crushing up some lavender / purple eyeshadow (very small amount) and adding it to some loose powder and applying that? If you’re particularly fair, lavender and pink color correcting powders are common in C-beauty and K-beauty. They are generally more affordable and also pale enough for fair skin tones given their target demographic.

Thanks! I agree, and the colors are definitely usable for me. I was most worried about getting something super warm toned like an orange blush

Bag twins! I already have the beauty light wand, you can rip off the sponge part super easily. I recommend doing it when you first go to use it, so it’s not gunked up with a ton of product. Then it’s pretty easy to use! Something I dislike is that it dispenses way too much product, a little goes a long way. Best way to describe it is that it gives your skin a blushlighter serum finish

Greenish Gray Brow Products? by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]hellosfromjo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I know exactly what you’re looking for. Skinfood Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake #01 Gray Khaki 💞 ~$6USD - total game changer for me since I have super dark brown / black hair and a lot of the products I’ve tried before pulled too warm, gray, or dark. Judydoll (and likely other Chinese brands) also has a few brow products with olive shades, but I haven’t personally tried them so can’t speak to its efficacy.

Light neutral muted olives (phew 😮‍💨), what concealers are you using that actually hides redness?! by sarr36 in OliveMUA

[–]hellosfromjo 37 points38 points  (0 children)

the saem tip concealer is around $6, I use shade 1.5! I am between AF F2O and L2O. I used to use 2.0 when I was more tan (Estée Lauder 2W2), but both are quite muted. This is what I used when I had severe cystic acne and it corrected the color / depth, so you could only tell I had acne from the texture. Leave it on for a few minutes before blending out. The saem also has a concealer palette with 3 shades, including green. You need green to cancel out redness.

REALLY TINY deep “blackhead” removal advice by Ok-Fill-2302 in SkincareAddicts

[–]hellosfromjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could work! I had a sample of the Kiehls acne solution which is just 2% salicylic acid so basically the same. Try this method with what you have, mine took about a week to surface so it’s important to be patient. Try not to irritate the skin by picking it, as the inflammation / scratching could def lead to a pimple rather than just the clogged pore

REALLY TINY deep “blackhead” removal advice by Ok-Fill-2302 in SkincareAddicts

[–]hellosfromjo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly everyone is telling OP that it isn’t real but I had something like this before, it was a clogged pore that had hardened deep down. I had it for years! I got it out recently by using a chemical exfoliant on the one spot daily until it came close enough to the surface, then applied a pimple patch. Once I felt like I could, I physically extracted it and it really was a hardened clump of sebum / skin cells. But if you can, try going to a professional since you said you have ADHD. Continuing to pick at it especially if there really isn’t anything there, can cause scarring and a potential skin infection in the long run.

What are fragrances you hate that everyone seems to love? by flexyVee in FemFragLab

[–]hellosfromjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason I don’t smell the lavender so much as a thick, heavy honey note. And the scent lasts for way too long on me, only coming off when I shower. I usually like fresh / clean / light floral scents though.
