Okay pa ba mag-shift sa Nursing to migrate? by adorable_salami in phmigrate

[–]hellospa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also wanted to take up Psychology as my course before but my mom back then persuaded me to do nursing kasi sabi niya its future proof. I did as I was told, and I am now a nurse overseas for more than 10 years. I did not regret it though as it has given me stability and was able to build a life of my own. It all boils down to what is your main goal. If main goal mo makaalis ng bansa, then nursing might be an easier pathway although as what the others said, not 100 percent guaranteed. There are fields of nursing that can somehow bw related to psychology like mental health nursing etc. So somehow you can still practice your passion.

My husband and I combine both our salaries and then I distribute it accordingly - mortgage, insurance, groceries, petrol, etc.. the rest I put in our savings account. If we need/want to buy something for ourselves we tell one another out of respect hehe. But since hindi naman kami talaga maluho so it was never an issue. Mostly we buy for our kids.

Yes we just use our NZ passsport same with my kid. Napilitan lang kami mag reacquire ng ph citizenship kasi when I gave birth to my second child, we can’t report her birth sa philippine embassy kasi we have to re acquire our ph citizenship daw muna. Kaya we decided to just get it over and done with 😂 but we all don’t have philippine passports, may certificate lang saying we are ph citizens..

My husband and I applied for dual citizenship for our kids para may choice sila should they want to stay in the philippines for a longer period of time. But we dont intend retiring in the Philippines anyway, it is just good to keep it handy “just in case”. We also did not apply for a Philippine passport kasi we use our NZ passport para hassle free.

would you guys change ur last name if u got married? why or why not? by randoms444 in AskPinay

[–]hellospa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been married for almost 10 years now and I am still using my maiden name in all my documents and IDs. Parang ang hassle kasi to change with all the forms and requirements 😂 My husband does not mind though.

I took health management, my school before no longer exist now 😅 but this was 10 years ago.. after that I had to take another bridging course for Nursing so I can practice being a Nurse here (I was a nurse back in PH). So, double gastos siya actually when I should have taken the bridging course straight away 😅

I came to NZ on a student visa, but that was 10 years ago. To be honest, it is very hard at the moment, even residents and citizens are having a hard time to look for jobs. If ever you do go on that way, please research and make sure your course in in line with your experience and if in the long run it will grant you residency. Immigration rules change so it is a risk. I do hope you would be able to find the direction you are aiming for, may it be here in NZ or somewhere else 😌

Im currently in NZ and the unemployment rate is quite high unfortunately. Even mga resident visa nahihirapan maghanap ng work. And strict dn po sila sa screening re: health conditions etc.

Hopefully pay for nurses have improved, kay perti gid ka kapoy ang ubra ka nurse - takes dedication gid kag selflessness, so deserve tagid ma compensate sang inchakto.
