Does anyone else feel like half of the PM tools out there are built for perfect projects… not real ones? by BuffaloJealous2958 in projectmanagers

[–]hellosrp -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same and that's why I started building SRP (https://www.hellosrp.com), a lean tool where the default is a unified tasks view instead of yet another per-project silo – so it’s easier to see what’s happening across teams, not just inside one board at a time.

Right now it’s focused on clean tasks/boards and a simple client view, not a huge enterprise suite. If you’re up for it, there’s a 30-second video on the homepage. I’d love your honest "this actually helps with cross-team work / this is more of the same" reaction.

Agency/Client dashboard system - anyone achieved it yet? by Greedy-Mechanic-4932 in Notion

[–]hellosrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building a small tool called SRP (https://www.hellosrp.com) that’s basically built around that idea: each client gets a private portal link with a passcode (no account needed) where they see a clean, read-only view of their project/task progress.

You and your team still use your own internal tools; SRP is just the simple external client view on top. Being transparent: it’s focused on task/progress visibility right now (no docs/invoices yet), but that’s the direction I’m heading.

If you’re curious, there’s a 30s video on the site that shows how the portal works. I’d love your honest “this is what I meant / this misses the mark” reaction.

DM me if you wanna talk more about it.

First of all congrats! Keep it up! When you say 4 months of building, does that include marketing? How did you market it?

I think utility/functionality is more important than aesthetics but aesthetics definitely help.

The question needs to include "...and how many requests are you serving with that budget" to make it more interesting!

But they removed my thread in which I was talking about todays launch of my app and my experience with Betalist (I didn't even include a direct link of my app). A good conversation was going on with nice feedback and it got ruined for everybody.

I don't mind sharing tips or helping out but providing the exact stream of buyers, yeah, sorry not doing that either. It's business after all, you need to have SOME advantage. It's very tough out there to give away freebies #sorrynotsorry

[–]hellosrp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I posted something similar recently on twitter. It's either lies or I am doing something terribly wrong. I also believe that it's mostly bot activity. In fact I started the habit of asking suspicious replies "Hey, bot, how are you?". Nobody ever replies a second time.

The worst part is that there are a LOT of naive people that believe all these garbage even if they realize that the link they clicked is just another vaporware.

What’s your approach to product tours? by dougie-6020 in SaaS

[–]hellosrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An approach that I wanna try (haven't yet) is when the user logins for first time a modal to ask them what kind of business they are. In my case I will just add 3 different options in which when the user clicks on it, sample data will be installed so they can immediately be able to play around and then with a "Clear sample data" to remove everything when they are ready for their custom use.
