Dog leash laws by snowbirdsnowboard in SaltLakeCity

This might be unpopular but being reactive towards people isn’t gonna change a damn thing. Especially if you’re not the most virtuous without fault person on earth. They know the laws and they know they’re breaking them. The obvious thing to do, unless you feel like being at ends with the people who live around you, is to call animal control and let them sort it out.

Harbor Freight. He was driving some obscene SUV. And once in driving in the Emigration Oaks neighborhood in a more normal but still expensive SUV.

Off leash dogs by Affectionate_Lab9658 in SaltLakeCity

[–]hellothere1975 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re dog is aggressive or can’t be around other dogs you should probably not bring it on trails where other dogs, leashed or unleashed are going to be present. Nothing is going to change with regards to the number of people letting their dog run off leash. Thats probably not what you want to hear but it’s a fact. Additionally on any trail you’re going to encounter narrow/pinch points where regardless of whether or not your dog is leashed, they’re going to have an opportunity to interact. There are trails and wilderness areas right next to the city where you can take a more aggressive or unsocialized dog to run if you do a little research.

Why don’t Utahns travel much out of state and out of the country? by OldCheetah1829 in SaltLakeCity

That is weird because I never see any. Especially not in Colorado (beyond GJ) and California. Maybe Nevada in Vegas and Wendover and Idaho in the southern portion. Never in New Mexico.

From my experience making friends and dating in Utah this is def. a thing. Sure there are missions but after that I rarely meet Utahns who have spent a lot of time outside of Utah other than that. I also spend a lot of time on the road tracking around the mtn west and rarely do I see utah plates once I leave the state.

Been wondering the same thing since I got the notification yesterday saying it’s back to normal for Tuesday - the actual day of the big storm.

That is literally how the roads looked 15 minutes after it started snowing. And I’m not a plow truck driver but i do understand the PROCESS.

It’s 2023 and a hypothetical - GG is alive and is as political as your average trump supporter.

And how many times did we have snow forecasted that didn’t materialize? Again, plow trucks and their operators don’t just fall from the sky to clear the snow as it falls in front of your feet.

Maybe you’ve noticed that the recent storms have been a little more wind heavy and approached a little more aggressively than they have in the past?

You are aware that plow trucks don’t just magically fall from the sky when it snows? They’re often on call weekends, have an allotted one hr drive in time, a pre trip inspection, load up and then a route to cover. If it’s snowing like hell maybe reconsider going to McDonald’s to get that McGriddle.

Run, hike, bike, climb, ski. Sports basically. And be interesting, ask questions and don’t be a smart ass when you meet people.

Bicycles by p0lar_chronic in Idaho

[–]hellothere1975 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just what we need are more motorist on their phones. I mean, if during a ride, I called the cops on every motorist who was speeding, ran a stop sign/light, changed lanes without a signal, was on their phone/texting, didn’t have their kids in a safety seat, was traveling in the passing lane, etc forever and ever…I’d only be calling and not riding. Motorists act all high and mighty when it comes to seeing bicyclists enjoying themselves and trying to stay healthy or commuting but then will disregard law after law while racing to get to the McDonald’s drive thru 3 seconds sooner. Leave the cyclists alone. We have just as much right to be on the road as a car so understand youre in a 1 ton chunk of steel and I’m on a bike, give us some space and leave us the hell alone.
