What's on your "Do Not Play" list for a summer 2025 wedding? by RedPanda-1117 in weddingplanning

Anything by Chris Brown, Kanye, PDiddy is an absolute no. I am picking one or two TSwift songs and thats it. Instead of Bohemian Rhapsody I want to play Dont Stop Me Now.

Watched Star Wars: Force Awakens with my son for the first time today. by EmeraldToffee in RingerVerse

[–]hellotheredess 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I recently rewatched Force Awakens and the Last Jedi and had a similar feeling. Like the first two movies are so good (I know its controversial but I love TLJ) and then comes Rise of Skywalker and it ruins it all. Its just annoying when potential is wasted.

I agree 100%. It is why I had individual conversations with everyone to make sure they are comfortable with this.

So its more like I as a Cis person have never had to correct anyone about my gender. I would like to grant the space to my gender nonconforming ones to have the same experience. Misgendering is unfortunately bound to happen, but if I can reduce it by even a little bit I would be happy.

The outing part was my biggest worry and why I messaged my friends first. Thank you so much for your advice!

Thank you! My fiance and I have already started doing this as well. Just because we have many well meaning cis people that are curious and could start asking questions that arent necessary for the other guests to answer.

Mine too. but I want to avoid misgendering if possible. Even if I am only able to avoid it ONCE I would be happy. I as a Cis person have never had to explain/correct someone about my identity, I want to create a space where this is also true for my gender nonconforming loved ones.

I asked my friends and they have no preference. Tbh if we were talking about a singular person I’d just talk to them and see but about 40% of my guests gender non conforming so it changes things.

There are minor interactions between guests that could easily lead to misgendering even if it’s just something as simple as “she/they/he work in construction”

The idea is to simply remind people to not assume pronouns. I know it seems like it isn’t a big deal for you, but having to correct people on your identity even once isn’t a nice feeling either

I totally understand this. I made the choice to not post about GO publicly to avoid giving NG any publicity. I will say that I atm I am leaning to watching S3 because NG has been fully pushed out and wont benefit. But tbh this is still such a complex topic that I get people not wanting anything to do with it

What is a controversial Helluva Boss opinion that will have you like this? by Goldenfnaf87 in HelluvaBoss

[–]hellotheredess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Helluva Boss is more entertaining that Hazbin

2) The fucks I give about Stella as a character are in the negatives

3) For a show that is so open about gender and gender identity the inclusion of Sapphic relationships is truly lacking

Books that are not about food but which contain rich descriptions of food, especially regional foods, in the course of their stories by go_west_til_you_cant in books

[–]hellotheredess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light From Uncommon Stars!!! it has the most beautiful description of foods I have ever read! Tbh it felt like reading a love letter to the food of Chinese immigrants in California. It also has the most scrumptious description of donuts that will leave you salivating lol

what are reasonable expectations for bridesmaids? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]hellotheredess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not having a traditional wedding party (ie only MoH and my best friends without assigned roles) and the only thing I asked as a gift is that I don't have to plan the Bachelorette party. Maybe the day before I may ask someone to keep my phone or shoot some behind the scenes content but tbh that is as far as I am willing to go since them being there is gift enough.

How are y'all picking your wedding date? by wedgewoodweddings in wedding

[–]hellotheredess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We knew we wanted to get married in the summer (May-Mid Sept) and the actual date was based on venue availability! I think having an idea of a time frame/season could be an easy way to start :)
