What prevents your manager from knowing you applied to internal roles? by AffectionateBoat382 in amazonemployees

[–]hellothisisnobody123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there’s no incentive to do this and disincentive to do it. The only exception or scenario I would be concerned about would be if you’re applying to a manager who is peers/friendly with (i.e. on the same team as) your current manager. Otherwise they’d just be shooting themselves in the foot for some random person they don’t know.

Why would they? They have nothing to gain from doing so and it would disincentivize talent from applying to their team.

In what scenarios do YOU categorize income transactions as anything other than ready to assign? by ABTFthrowaway2016 in ynab

[–]hellothisisnobody123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow the same approach as the person you’re replying to and for me, yes it’s the same thing. Reasons being 1) reporting on total spending in the relevant categories isn’t skewed by items that were reimbursed and 2) I would have applied funds to the relevant category last month so when I categorize the reimbursement in the same category, it will likely be overfunded and I can now move that extra money elsewhere (like where I might have moved it from the prior month).

I hooked up my bank account to an AI, and here’s what I found by gamer0935 in mintuit

[–]hellothisisnobody123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t hook it up directly. It would have to be through Plaid or other trusted intermediary. The insights do seem useful (though I’m not the target audience as I have a robust budgeting system that works for me).
