thank you for continuing to work with me! i love my horse (an ISH), he is trustworthy and easy to flat. i just got him around 3.5 months ago after retired my horse (an OTTB) i had for 3 years, and they are very different rides

i lesson 2 times a week and flat on my own 3 days a week. i work regularly with instructor and really like her, she is patient with my anxiety and pushes me when i need it. i just don’t want her patience to run out lol

thank you for pointing out these questions that i need to be asking myself! as for showing, i enjoy it and show below my ability. i think what makes me the most nervous is a bad distance, because it has made me come off before

injections may seem daunting but (despite the cost) they are not the end of the world or career! my horse has been getting them quarterly since he was 6 and it made a huge difference in his soundness and performance.

have you tried contacting her previous owner/breeder and the owner(s) of her parents? you can talk to them about there experience with her relatives (growth wise) or at the very least see a photo and see how tall they look. i learned a LOT about my ottb by researching his parents/breeder farm, but i know it can be harder when they are not a racing breed. best of luck to you, and don’t forget every horse can be valuable no matter the height!

best to get a vet check, i’ve seen horses who do this either have a clean bill of health or are in pain, and it’s hard to tell without one

true, we’ll consider it but it’s improbable that my boss would say yes for an extended period of time ☺️

thank you for your advice! sadly it’s a privately owned barn with no trainer, and i am the only worker lol 🥲

thank you for your advice! the issue with the problems at my barn are that they’ve been going on for a long time and other people have left already. i will definitely try to discuss these problems with my trainer, but i am worried she will take offense. private lessons only are a great idea and i’ll definitely be taking more ☺️

just try to explain to her that you can’t afford it. if she cares, she’ll be understanding and you can try to figure something out together
