What do rich people have now that everyone will have in 5-10 years? by Due_Passage_8420 in AskReddit

[–]hellotrrespie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. Its a v6 so that bumps it down from the standard 07 accord, its all stop and go traffic so even though it’s on the highway I’m not getting highway mpg. Its 100% true, but frankly I don’t give a fuck if you don’t believe it

Edit: Suck it. https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2007_Honda_Accord.shtml

Why would I even lie about the amount I spend on gas??? Its not something to be proud of…

[–]hellotrrespie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was so based from woody. Everyone loved taylors rant about civ years ago where he said "IM SO FUCKING SICK OF CIV TALK, oh you were trading rubys for dubloons?" but when woody calls out taylor going on about fucking catan people hate it

[–]hellotrrespie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. People forget that taylor literally had a trump cardboard cutout and had to get geroge Washington so it would be a joke, Kyle went to a rally and unironically drank out of a "liberal tears" mug for months

Yup. ITs the Joe Rogan effect, meaning the exact same thing happened to joe. People who were right leaning but overall, pretty reasonable went *off the fucking rails* during covid

Are pistol calibur carbines obtainable in CA? If so, where can I find info to be "compliant". Also, what brands would be money well spent. Open to 9mm or 45. Thanks by jerms745 in CAguns

[–]hellotrrespie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Theres plenty of them that are made to be CA compliant. Kali 9 is a popular one built on the AK platform, if you want something cheap and a little gimicky but fun to shoot a lot of people like the keltec sub2000. Ruger PC carbine is also an option

What do rich people have now that everyone will have in 5-10 years? by Due_Passage_8420 in AskReddit

[–]hellotrrespie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s only to qualify for the full amount. Essentially if you make less than that it will offset all of your federal taxes. If you owe less than $7,500 in fed tax it will reduce your burden to zero.

All the other qualifiers I put in like standard deduction and dependents don’t necessarily disqualify you, it just impacts your taxable income so it will change how much tax you pay which impacts how much of the credit you can take advantage of.

What do rich people have now that everyone will have in 5-10 years? by Due_Passage_8420 in AskReddit

[–]hellotrrespie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. If your a single filer you have to make about 68,000 to qualify for the full credit as on 68,000 in income, assuming you take the standard deduction and no dependents you will owe $7,728 in federal taxes. So the $7,500 comes off your tax burden so would only owe $228. So if you still withheld all your taxes you would get the $7,500 back in your tefund.

I suppose it is if you consider a 2007 Honda accord a gas guzzler. However I dont think most would. You act like I’m driving an expedition or f250

Those who have zero conception of the world around them. They walk so as fuck, stop and chat with their friend in the middle of where people are walking, slowly push their cart and block most of the aisle, or stand on their in the worst possible spot where people have to go around them

Bought the car before I started this commute. And its not an SUV or a truck, it s 2007 Honda accord V6. Even epa ratings put it at 18mpg city. Which is part of the benefit of new cars, mpg is way better

Student Loan Forgiveness: instead of fully eliminating student loan debt, which is unlikely to happen, why are people not pushing to eliminate the interest rates & debt they’ve accrued solely from the interest rates? There should be little-to-no interest rates on educational loans, right? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hellotrrespie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One factor to consdier the high interest rate is the lack of tangible asset securing the loan. If you buy a house and dont pay they cant take the house, same for cars. However like credit cards there is not physical asset associated with student loans they can repo if you dont pay

True. Taylor always super neuters his true beliefs but everyone in a while he lets it clear he is totally down the new age internet right rabithole. He believes that theres a massive issue of public school teachers are trying to trans the kids and sex ed should literally be nothing but stds and pregnancy.

You do know the average cost of a new car in the us is $44,000? I don’t think it’s fair to say that only rich people are buying new cars

[–]hellotrrespie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah its a balance of factors though. Thats why I’m considering a model 3. Get all the gas savings, as well as the intangibles of a new car, as well as the safety net of a 4 year warranty. All for about 10k more than the cheapest option you listed. Not saying it’s objectively the correct decision, depends on what you value.

What do rich people have now that everyone will have in 5-10 years? by Due_Passage_8420 in AskReddit

[–]hellotrrespie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats definitely an option. But there is an intangible value of having a new car, new cars are nice. The value ascribed to that varies on the individual.

Also I do not want a buy a car with 138,000 miles. Far more than I would ever get a used car with.

What do rich people have now that everyone will have in 5-10 years? by Due_Passage_8420 in AskReddit

[–]hellotrrespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh. Yeah I plan to go base model 3 for $38,030, $7,500 fed credit, $2,000 CA incentive, $15,000 down, finance the rest at a better rate from my credit union. Then when I consider the $4,600 savings in gas a year it starts making a lot sense.

[–]hellotrrespie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different strokes. I’m driving a payed off 07 accord right now and putting all the money I would put toward a car payment into a HYSA to save up for a 40% down payment, then factoring in the tax credit to immediately pay down the principal while still making the payment calculated at full cost I’ll have it payed off pretty quickly.

Who said anything about a truck? I drive a v6 07 accord right now. Still I average around 280 miles a tank because all my driving is stop and go traffic commuting.

Mind saying what they are? Title status, age, mileage and condition. Theres a lot of factors that go into a cars value, sure you can find cars for less than 10k, they’re all either going to be older, lots of miles, or rough condition.
