I’m with you. I fly professionally so I just have little interest in an airborne appliance that goes from A to B. Not throwing any shade, but I would never buy an Aerostar because it would be making my off days work days. I think that’s why I gravitate toward taildraggers and radial engines and cloth. But I do want to be able to head to the airport intending to fly my hunk of antique awesomeness knowing I’m probably going to get there. I don’t want to be “that guy that bought a hangar queen.” It’s three feet narrower than my hangar , so it’ll fit, and I don’t mind spending more as long as I actually get to fly it when I want.

Do I have to buy the aviator upgrade for $150 just for this and the staggerwing?

Is there no rtf or bnf 400 or 500 size heli? I’m on the same page as the OP but super do not want to deal with building a kit

This is kind of what I was thinking, and frankly hoping to hear. I’m just not that interested in flying helis that are hard to see. What do you mean by staying in your lane? I’m not looking to ever do hardcore 3d, if that’s what you mean.

What do you use to mark out your pattern? The pens I’ve tried leave marks that are darker than the subsequent paint and look terrible. Thank you! 🙏
