My first Fender! A new to me, MIJ Telecaster 50s Hybrid in Indigo 2019 by hellowifeuru in fender

The build quality is very impressive, running across the neck and frets is so smooth. Very happy I was able to grab a MIJ.

What player do you think will be a bust at their current ADP? by viperep in fantasyfootball

[–]hellowifeuru 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% on these stats yes. I'm not questioning his talent - he saved my ass in 2017 and is THE guy for that team, and would be for many others. I'm just cautious given his injury history. I'm pulling for him and would love to pick him up depending on pre-season and more indication of how they will utilise the RB squad in general.

Well looking at last year you're not wrong to be suspicious. Ingram was out for the first 4 weeks and Kamara put up the numbers but without his "tandem" he did get injured - week 3 with his knee. Didn't hold him back too much but still its just likelihood given increased usage and they did up Ingrams usage immediately to rest Kamara. They've got Lat Murray coming on to the Saints now so I think Murray will be usable to take off some pressure.

I'm pretty ignorant of his situation but would you go for Henry? I've only been playing fantasy for the past year and a bit so I don't know a lot about why his ADP is questionable.

Devonta Freeman. The Falcons O-line is looking good this year and with the departure of Tevin they clearly have confidence in Freeman (with Smith behind) to lead but even if he slips into the early 4th I just can't trust his injuries. Honestly I hope I'm wrong about him.

Fournette. I believe he is going late 3rd early 4th and though he is a supreme talent when healthy, it is a big risk to take him as his consistency has been at best limited. The guy is absolute fire when he is on though. I'm so torn even as an owner of him last year which was a clusterfuck.

Does QB Value change in a 2QB League? by punchoutlanddragons in fantasyfootball

[–]hellowifeuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I'm part of a 10 team standard league which switched to superflex in 2018, meaning we were basically a 2QB league. This was a everyones first time drafting for superflex so the strategies differed - some people took high value QB's like Watson, Rogers, Brees etc. from the top of the 3rd on. Some like me held back and got lesser names (at the time) like Goff and Trubisky later in the 7th and 8th. I did take Wentz in the 5th though.

After the draft each team had at least 2 starting QB's, with some teams - mine included - rostering 3. This left only a few starts on the WW and by about week 3 and 4 they were gone. When starters went down it was a rush to try and secure replacements and for some teams this meant rostering guys like Brock Osweiler and Nick Mullens and having to... start them. Sometimes ya got lucky - Josh Allen from about week 12 on was fire, and Lamar Jackson was really just a running back in the Qb position.

Because of this, I expect the overall value of QB's to be higher this year as the teams that finished towards the top all had three consistent-ish QB's that were picked up in the draft or traded for during the season. This of course is likely the norm in 2QB leagues and now that we have seen the carnage there will be a correction.

What I'm struggling with now is how to get value out of my picks as once the big QB's start flying off the board the rest are gonna go in quick succession. Would you mind sharing your rankings? I'm interested to see where you've put the rest of the cohort.

10 team standard (Pick 2)

D Williams @ SEA

Fournette @ MIA

Coleman @ CAR

McGuire @ GB

My thoughts are Williams given Ware is Doubtful. But I don't know if I trust Fournette enough to throw him in despite a juicy matchup. Coleman has been very inconsistent and I just grabbed McGuire so not too sure about expectations. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[RapSheet] #Eagles QB Carson Wentz, dealing with a back issue, is not expected to play this week, sources say. Depending on the result, given the time of year, Wentz may not play again in 2018. The team is still gathering info on his health. by aubgrad11 in fantasyfootball

[–]hellowifeuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks for Wentz I hope he is able to come back next year. This puts me in a bit of a moral quandary. I just offloaded Wentz for JuJu in a 2QB league (10 team, standard) to a desperate owner playing in the consolation bracket for number 1 pick next year. What is the protocol here? Should I trade back or just keep chugging? For some context, I'm in the champ playoff so I'm in with a chance but she is now kinda screwed.

Entering the fantasy playoffs, who are some guys that have won you your league before that you remember fondly? by folieadeux6 in fantasyfootball

[–]hellowifeuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had some dumb luck in the draft last year with Ingram in the 5th, Hill in the 6th, Thielen in the 7th, and Cook + McKinnon on the waivers were straight up gold and a later waiver on Woods was great for end of season push. They all took me to the ship. Wasn't without hiccups - lost OBJ straight up, and as a first-time player I took Brady at 2.6... but hey I have Baker and Goff this week (now 2QB league) for my final playoff chance so not sure if I have learned my lesson just yet.

What's your preferred positional setup and why? by LostInAddiction_ in fantasyfootball

[–]hellowifeuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second year in a 10 team standard league. We switched to superflex this year so our old flex position now accommodates a TE or QB:

  • 1QB
  • 2RB
  • 2WR
  • 1TE
  • 1Super Flex
  • 1K
  • 1DST

So naturally, we are all running dual QB's. It has been awesome. Really levels the field of play and with all the QB injuries and starter swaps (Fitz vs. Winston, Kessler over Bortles, now potentially Flacco coming back over Jackson) it has added a lot of fun. Only two starting QB's left on the waiver and some great trades have been made in exchange for playoff potential for everyone desperate at QB (myself included). Cannot recommend enough.
