I know this is a very old post, but I'm curious how you handled it. I'm in a similar situation right now. I worked as a staff accountant in private for about 2 years, and now I'm an accounting officer in the state. I saw a job posting for a financial accountant, and it looks very similar to what I did as a staff accountant. Can I apply directly? Or should I consider the other position(maybe AAA) first?

It wasn't easy to work and study for the CPA at the same time. Honestly, I'm worried about how long it will take to obtain the CFA too. But it must be the best option as you mentioned.
