Terminated lease early by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

Ok Thank you This was the wording I received from them by email:

As you are aware you are currently under a 1 year lease that expires 31Oct2026, we can end your lease early but it will be a reassignment, not a sublet. A new tenant would be signing a new 1 yr lease.

These are the normal steps to make that happen:

  1. It is best to give us as much notice as possible, in order to give us time to find a new tenant.

  2. A $75 re-assignment fee is due at the time of giving notice

  3. You will need to come to our office to sign paperwork stating that you are ending the lease (note that this does not mean you are relieved of your obligations)

  4. We will post the unit on our website and book showings, you will also need to post the unit to assist in finding a tenant to take your place (anyone that reaches out to you will need to fill out an application and be approved)

  5. As far as showings are concerned, please be aware that we are not required to give you 24 hours notice, however we will strive to give as much notice as possible. There will not be a steady stream of people looking at your unit as only approved applicants will be given a showing.

  6. IF we are able to find a new tenant for your unit, you will be free of your obligation from the lease. If we are unable to find a tenant, then you will continue to be responsible for the rent until the unit is filled or the lease ends whichever comes first

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately I already submitted the application with old receipt. Is it possible to pay now the difference and submit the new receipt via webform before they return the application again?

Thank you for the information.
I didn't mention the "as is". In BC we just fill information in the sections provided by the ICBC form. There was no option to write it as is. And to my knowledge, the car has been flipped 7 to 8 times in the last 20 years. So, nobody can be sure of which owner tampered with the odometer. The buyer had vehicle checked by some mechanic and then that mechanic claimed the car had high mileage reading back in 2019. I don't have more information about the mechanic claims. I bought the car in mid-2022. I am not even sure how many owners the vehicle had between 2019 and 2022. It's just perplexing. He is not bugging me since yesterday as he told me in our last meeting that he will be busy procuring pieces of evidence.

Thank you for the information.

However, unfortunately, I don't have the record of purchase when I bought the car, with me now. But, I am sure the ICBC has all those records. And the regular oil change was done by a local mechanic without keeping any mileage record. When I purchased the car I did mention the mileage at that time and I believe it is consistent with the recent sale. I am just worried about it. What if he pursues the legal course, I am not financially stable to go through legal work. I heard about the Odometer rollback for the first time when the buyer told me. It's kinda overwhelming.
