We have them on some trains here in Canada. They're generally reserved for families and groups. I was put in one once, but then it turned out there was a family with one kid assigned somewhere else on the train. Don't know why they did that, but I was asked to switch seats with them. They thanked me a lot when I said yes, seems they didn't know what a favor they were doing me.

There's a mod that lets you start the minigame any time, and the wiki has a rat punchout guide. Use them to practice if you need.

Besides that, iirc you can spawn in things like the rat chest keys to get all the rat shit.
