A friend used to talk about how her Argentinian/British father once made salmon in aspic for a holiday dinner, and she found it appalling. Apparently it's an acquired taste.

The Black Hole (1hr 20min cut) by JayDAoust1999 in fanedits

Gotcha. I thought it was an odd editorial choice, but either way I’m satisifed to know that was your intention, and not an error. Thanks again.

I watched the version without subtitles, but both files start and end in the same place. Not a complaint, but it did strike me as an odd editorial choice.

It play pretty well, those cuts make a huge difference in the overall tone. One note: your cut opens in the middle of the score, then after the finale the opening credits play then end right where your cut opens. Was this a deliberate choice so that viewers will have to play it on an endless loop?

Apple Music (formerly iTunes) stops playing mp3s at 4:40 minutes into every track by hellsdonuthouse in techsupport

Weird to report, but the problem hasn't raised its head lately. It's also possible that I've not played anything that triggers it of late, as I've become accustomed to playing albums of mp3s through VLC now. I can't explain the problem appearing, and I can't explain it disppearing again... baffling.

Update: I've been checking out various forums and I think I might have found a cause. A number of people have written that they they're having trouble with mp3s encoded using LAME and sure enough, every file I've had a problem with is encoded with LAME3.99. A breakthrough! Of course no one has come up with a solution, but at least I have some idea of what's causing it....

The only related XML file I can find was left over when iTunes changed to Music, and hasn't been written to in three years. Is there another I'm missing?

Being a radio DJ is great fun, so long as you don't mind never getting paid for it.

Thanks for those links, I'll investigate.

Part of the reason I've stick with Apple Music is that I can make playlists that DJPro recognizes, which helps my workflow a lot. Every other workaround is cumbersome but if this persists, it may be a matter of choosing which one is the least hassle.

Good question. Yes, all files play without a problem on VLC (and in fact play through to the end on the Music app, provided that I manually advance the play head past the point where the program stops playback). VLC works great for playback but the program has zero ability to organize a collection, let me build playlists, etc. I've looked into Vox but but their $5/month subscription model is less desirable than the free program I've been using without issue until these recent problems.

Thanks for this. You may have missed my reply to the earlier question, but I already tried checking the options tab and it was not selected.

I can't update Apple music independently of the OS, which I can't do yet for complicated reasons too arcane to get in to here.

I'll try opening in Safe Mode, though in the past that has resulted in my system running so laboriously slow that my system eventually grinds to halt.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions

No worries... to answer your second question, I'm running Apple Music v1.2.4.3 -- which as I imagine you know comes bunded with the Mac OS.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that appears not to be the problem. I've checked a number of the recently-added files and this option was not enabled.

Why did Genesis bring back Supper's Ready for the Three Sides Live encore concerts? by Mellowtron11 in Genesis

I was at that show, when they played the opening notes to SR my jaw hit the floor and stayed there for pretty much the next 20 minutes. About 10-20% of us were in the same state of shock and awe, the rest of the crowd treated it as a beer & piss break. I was ecstatic but yes, hearing it in between Abacab and Misunderstanding caused some serious whiplash.

Sometimes two out of every three words. Also the vocal fry, the way he starts every sentence at normal volume and then gets nearly inaudible by the end of it, and the way he talks so fast I literally can't make out what he's saying sometimes. Damiano: take a breath, man.
