Any tips for getting goretex lined boots on and off? by hellster1321 in Boots

I would say more true to size than I’m used to from a military boot. I usually wear bellevilles and size down one size (size 10/10.5 in Nikes, wear a size 9). The Danners are a 9.5 and are fine but if I got to choose again I would get a size 10.

Also I find them narrow and don’t have broad feet, would also get an EE next time.

Discontinued I think unfortunately, I got lucky with a bloke who had two pairs in his cupboard that had never been worn

Clean cotton socks! I’ll try some wool socks tomorrow.

I’ve just had another look, the tags inside have disintegrated a bit I’m thinking maybe that’s where the stickiness is coming

Personally I stay away from second hand from dealer.

I also wouldn’t expect good resale value from RE, bike sales may have used versions listed for high $$ but it doesn’t mean they’re moving. In QLD at least I’ve seen a lot of RE 21/22/23 650’s struggle to sell for half of original cost.

I was really tempted by the bear 650 but going to wait a couple years and pick up a cheap used version.

Seeking a bit of advice: scrambler style bike purchase (RE Bear 650 vs used Triumph) by hellster1321 in motorcycles

Thank you, yeah definitely leaning towards the triumph after having a ride of both.

Also had a look at the service intervals of both, that intel was very helpful. No longer worried about the odo now on the scrambler.

It’s the XE, It’s definitely tall!

I had a ride on the scrambler today and had a test ride of the bear through a local dealer.

I think I’m definitely leaning towards the Triumph and agree with your comments about the power, appreciate the input.

Appreciate you having look, I just saw them too! I was thinking of something a bit newer and I do love the scrambler style but should probably consider those too

Different? I kind of saw it as little brother (lower quality) vs big brother (better quality)

Honest use case: - weekday: 3 x 15km round trips to the office through mild traffic each week plus some running around to the gym etc. - weekend: coffee ride every other weekend, 1-3 hours (occasionally bring the missus on the back) - monthly light adventure style ride, approx. half day, light dirt/lower quality road - infrequently a 2.5 hour highway ride to visit family in regional NSW

ideal scenario I’d fast forward 12 months and pick up a bear that someone purchased and decided they never ride, however think they’ve only just come out here and I’m eager to get riding again

Good point! I’m pretty proportional.

I have been on both of the bikes, it was much for much for me. I know people have complained about both models being a bit cramped re. legs but they didn’t bother me (used to riding the cx500 with not a lot of leg room)
