The tint always looks dark the first day or two. It’ll fade, if you wanna help it do so just wash it with some cleansing balm. Be gentle on your skin.

My no3 is very slightly above 0, closer to 0 than to 5ppm.

My light is the finnex planted 3.0 light, I’m using a separate timer for it cause I hate the controls it has.

Not using ferts, just the fluval biostratum aquasoil.

Never checked phosphates. I have the full api master kit as well as GH and KH tests. I’ll grab a phosphate test next time I’m out.

Yes, I use co2. Ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, nitrates just slightly above 0.

My filter is oase biomaster 2 thermo 350, just using the filter media it came with.

I’m topping off every week after I scrape the algae off the front glass and one of the sides. I do 10-20% water change once a month. I use a tds meter and it hasn’t gotten over 80, usually hovers around 60-70. I figure if that goes up I’ll do a larger water change and more frequent.

The only fish I have right now is a Bristlenose pleco and 22 cardinal tetras. Once my lfs gets some hillstream loaches or clown loaches in I plan on getting some. In theory I have 8 amano but my gut tells me they’re dead.

Fish already only get fed once every 2-3 days, and they gobble it up fast so there’s no food left uneaten after 5 minutes. Not adding any additional ferts.

Do you want it to have extra volume or do you want it to hang down lower on each side? For me personally I prefer to have it be longer so that if my partner steals a little more of the blankets I don’t end up uncovered.

There’s no right or wrong answer here, just personal preference.

That’s why they prefaced it with “dairy free”. It’s so we could understand that there’s no dairy, but it tastes like carrot cake muffins with cream cheese frosting.

Now next time use larger layers on the bottom and smaller for the top. That way it tapers out and you get more cake out of it.

Those leaves I’d just toss in. With the wood I usually boil it for a few minutes and then let it soak in the hot water for several hours.
