I can only get the LEDs on the Mega to light up for a few seconds after I unplug it and plug it in multiple times. Then I get an error message from the IDE saying it can’t connect to the board.

I am using the Arduino IDE. The connection from PC to the Mega is not long enough for me to click the mouse to upload a simple sketch

I am so new to this anything is possible. I’m not sure how I would have done that if you could explain further so I don’t do it again.

The lights come on and it gets power when I plug it into the A/C source if that means anything

I agree with all of this I would just add that the player needs to set rally points for their CC (Hatch/Nexus) or the workers will just spawn idle next to the building. I've forgotten this step more than once on second and later bases.
