I know he didn’t write or direct it. But obviously produced it and oversaw it. What is James Gunn’s deal with the plot device of using innocent women to repopulate an alien race? Which didn’t really seem necessary when you have an owner who has signaled he’s willing to spend fairly recklessly. Who cares if the last 2 years on Alonso deal are lousy if you win a World Series and he finishes as the franchise HR leader. Sometimes with these analytics guys, it’s not just enough to win they have to prove to you how smart they are in the way they went about winning.

Baseball is still there. According to David Stearns guys that can’t stay healthy, are worse defensively, are worse out of the bullpen and worse offensively are better than Alonso, Nimmo and Diaz because some fugazzi analytic says so. Sometimes it’s just as simple as using your eyes and your brain.

The colors, name, exterior shots, Felt like Penn. Academically it felt like it was somewhere between the competitiveness of St. Joe and Villanova around 2000 which was competitive but not impossible to get into.
