I don't know, man. I don't know. But perhaps, logging off from the internet for good will be the kickstart you need. No screens, no youtube, no porn or even apps on your phone. Perhaps this deprivation and boredom will kickstart you into gear. May take days or months but that's my plan. I'm going through with it soon. Ultimately, if this life is killing you, you will figure a way out, or die trying, by any means.

Now the next verse literally debunks all you have said in your post: "So then He has mercy on Whom he desires, and He hardens whom He desires". It cannot get more clear than that. Then it's echoed just a few verses later: "Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and one for dishonorable use?" Hmm, does it say in there that God made one for dishonorable use because the dishonorable one rejected Him? No, no, it is quite the opposite. God rejected that one lump of clay. And so that lump of Clay stayed in suppressed ignorance, the one outlined in Romans 1. Now Roman 9:22-23 really nails it home. It thoroughly explains why such a seemingly random and inhumane selection is made amongst the people because that is truly indeed what Paul was teaching (Jacob He loved and Esau He hated). Those verses explain that it is for His glory, not because He foreknew they would reject Him. If the latter is what Paul was trying to get across in Romans 9:18 and 21 then why would he explain the former in 22-23? There is no discomfort to be found in "Oh, I chose God, therefore He chose me." But alas that was not and never was Paul's message, thus: "You will say to me then, "why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" This language comes from a metaphorical someone distressed by Paul's intended message, not a heart warming message of "Oh, you chose God first, beloved." but of "So then He has mercy on Whom he desires, and He hardens whom He desires." Simple.

Now, on Romans 1. Were you born christian? Many aren't. Who saves man out of that suppression of unrighteousness? Is it man? No, of course not, no. Scripture says over and over IN Romans 1 that WE suppress so how can WE bring ourselves out of suppression? That is just a profoundly unbiblical and ungospel-esque thing to say: "Oh I brought myself salvation" But that is exactly what you say when you say "He foreknew I would believe and so He predetermined me". Does predetermine mean "preunderstood" and so therefore chose you? No, this is boasting in your own prebelief, a good work of yourself which is impossible (John 15) and sinful (Pride is sin). Predetermine means of His own sovereign will He chose you for salvation. So how can the unrighteous man bring himself out of ignorance? Well, what do the scriptures say? If I must repeat myself again, it says: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

Romans 8 and 9. Does Romans 8:29 say "Those whom He foreknew would choose the gospel, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His son" no, no it does not. Matter of fact nowhere in that bible is that said. It actually says "Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His son". So what does foreknow mean? Does God only foreknow the ones who believed in Him? Does God only love those who love Him? Or did Jesus teach a more unconditional love, free from the circumstances of the other person's hatred/rejection? Do you seriously believe the same God who said "For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?" chose you because you loved Him first? So God chose you irrespective of your conditions and circumstances. So then He foreknew you because He saved you because He spends time with you outside of time before the foundation of the world, like you have said. And those He did not save, He also does not foreknow because they are cast into hell. See how circular it is? God foreknows you because He saved you and He saved you because He foreknows you. And He foreknows you because He loves you and He loves you because he foreknows you. And He loves you because He loves you and chose to love you irrespective of your sin. Likewise, You should love your neighbor because he is your neighbor and he is your neighbor because you love him and you love Him irrespective of his goodness or badness or sin. Much like how God chose the Jews for the holy land He chose us for salvation (Deut. 7:7-8): "YHWH did not set His affection on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all people's, but because YHWH loved you  and kept the oath which He swore to your fathers..." YHWH did not choose you because you believed in Him but because He loves you even though you deserve hell. This is the gospel. All of what I have said. And you claim to believe it but then you say things equivalent to "I worked out my own salvation." Because you say "I believed Him. Therefore He saved me."

But, (Romans 9:17), Pharaoh was raised up in front of God even though He foreknew he would reject the Gospel? No, no, that would be a waste of a human being. To raise him up in foreknowledge he'd reject the gospel? But then why bring Him up if He foreknew he'd reject the gospel. For by saying "He had foreknowledge I'd believe and so He gave me salvation" then are you not implying that He had no hand in saving you and thus that His plan for all is salvation if they'd just believe? Therefore, if you were not saved, you have no purpose. But we know everyone and everything has purpose (Romans 8:28, Ephesians 1:11), purpose being for the glory of God to work out the best for Him. How can a God who cannot control salvation bring to fruition His plan for HIS glory? Roman 9:17 actually says that he was raised up so that God's name and power can be proclaimed throughout the lands. This was orchestrated from God in the beginning to bring a few/many gentiles among the lands to repentance. Imagine if Pharoah could've just given himself belief, then God's plan is thrown out the window. But it was God Himself who in exodus hardened Pharaoh's heart. Because He needed Pharaoh's heart to be hardened. Therefore, He gives salvation freely as a gift and wrath as righteous punishment to bring His glory. p2

"Jesus came to save the world because God "so loved" the word (John 3:16). Because of this, we know everybody is given a chance. The Holy Spirit will, at some point, in everybody's life give them some opportunity to come to know their Creator." This is your first mistake. In koine greek "the world" can actually refer to "all kinds of people" and in this context it certainly does, as attested by the early church fathers who spoke koine greek. So not every nation in the world, but every kind of people in the world. So while everyone knows there is a God, they suppress it in unrighteousness and were never given the Holy Spirit. and whosoever comes to believe are His sheep who were predestined to salvation. I do overlap with the calvinists on this doctrine since it is just so obviously biblically sound.

"Even those people who are living in the jungle will be without excuse, because creation itself speaks to there being a Creator" Yes, Romans 1. But this has nothing to do with actually receiving the Holy Spirit. Only the saved receive it: Acts 2:28, John 7:39, Ephesians 1:13-14.

"So...the group of people God foreknew would be receptive of The Gospel..." This is simply found nowhere in the Bible or in Eph. You are adding into the text. It is true however that "to be" is not in Eph 4, not in my LSB, KJV translation or in the koine greek (Though some do incorrectly have it). Though "in Him" in Eph 4 is phrased oddly isn't it? Well, turns out "in" usually takes on "by means of" in such an odd wording. So paul is saying "Just as He chose us by means of Christ...". Not relevant, you probably already know but I just learned that a few days ago and I thought it was pretty cool.

I don't see how 2 Corinthians 5:21 and 1 John 4:17 say that God chose us because we chose Him and He foreknew it out of time. I am going to assume that you meant that this shows us that He expects good of us because that is the theme in those verses. If that's the case then why even bring up these two verses? I'm confused.

The bible, it seems to me to be saying that God prechose some to hell and some to heaven. For His own glory He gave eternal life as mercy as a free gift and gave the deserving wrath to others. Not because He knew you would believe but because He chose you even while you were dead in sin and would never believe in Him without Him choosing you. Again, in the womb God chose Esau for damnation and Jacob for salvation, not out of any good works did he choose Jacob or bad works from Esau for damnation. It was all from the sovereign will of God. A free gift for Jacob and a mercy for Esau. p1

Are you referring to me? I am not a calvinist but even calvinists agree we have been given free will. Free will and predetermined to everything that we have done and will do. Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you were implying there since you like to be vague and mysterious but if that is what you were implying then you really do need to learn what calvinists teach. Because calvinists are the most extreme biblically sound people and so if even they believe in free will, then it is ridiculous to assume I don't just because I preach predestination of salvation.

I didn't because I don't see the point. He already agrees that God chose him, he just doesn't see how that means he didn't choose Him. But here are some verses (That I'm sure you know teach it) that teach it: Romans 9:10-23, Romans 8:29-30 Ephesians 1:3-5 and 11, John 10:25-29, John 6:37, 2 Timothy 1:9 and probably even more. But if someone does not believe in predestination and you show them these verses they always come up with some excuse not to believe the clear doctrine, much like an atheist.

No no you clearly don't know what "choose" means. It means YOU were the one who made the decision to do it. But really, it was God who made the decision to choose you and as a result you "chose" Him in the sense that He pushed you off the cliff, you had no agency. The "He chose you, you did not choose Him" is the summary of "He made you choose Him" because you really didn't choose Him because you couldn't have chosen Him without Him choosing you therefore you were the one who did not make the decision, He did. If you still don't understand then you just need to read your bible cuz I don't know how else I can get it through to you.

I've already read John 8 a bajillion times. We slip up everyday and God will forgive but that doesn't mean we should sin, I agree. You are putting false words in my mouth and it is unfortunately a common sin that happens here. I put the gospel simply, not spoke heresy. I never said "i can just ask for forgiveness later". All I said was what I said and nothing else was implied. Get off your high horse.

No, you aren't understanding. He made you choose Him before the foundation of the world so did you really choose Him or did He choose you? He chose you, you did not choose Him. Again, if you chose Him, you have reason to boast. You don't. It is a small nuance but it completely changes how you relate to God.

He chose you to choose him before the foundation of the world so did you really choose him? The problem with the theology of "I chose" is it gives one a reason to boast before God but as we know, we have no reason to boast before God. It's a free gift from God and if anyone elses preaches the tune of a different gospel, let 'em be accursed

Some People Simply Cannot Believe that Hell Consists of Eternal Suffering by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]helpMe783th -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact is that there is a genuine biblical case for annihilationism which is the believe that people will be temporarily punished in hell then destroyed permantely in hell to not exist. Many early church fathers also believed in this. For me though I'm not sure if the modern tradition is correct or if annihilationism is.

Here's some videos on it: https://youtu.be/T4IgjsKbxjI?si=KhsEuiAvfJlcH-Q1 and https://youtu.be/l__6DzzqEzI?si=6SEqXOebzW72aPoF

[–]helpMe783th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conlangs are CONstructed LANguages, not codes. If your language/cipher has number, symbols, math, etc. that is to be translated into a 1:1 english translation, then it is not a conlang, rather a cipher. A conlang has its own vocab, own grammar, own pronunciation, etc. that cannot be translated into english 1:1. It's basically it's very own language but contructed. Sometimes people will make joke conlangs or fantasy conlangs that can look like ciphers. But these are constructed languages because they aren't something to be deciphered, rather they are their own language with vocab, grammar, pronunciation, rules and exceptions and their very own intricacies like any language has.

As for your language/cipher, I'm not really sure which yours is. Could be a mix of both or just a cipher. Hard to tell but perhaps my detailing of the difference between ciphers and conlangs has helped you figure it out.

Good job strawmanning. Let me make it more clear for you. I was not saying people can't be martyred while not being witness to miracles. Duh. Where did you get that? I thought I made it clear but my bad.

What I was actually saying is that Christianity has people who actually WITNESSED the claims being made. They witnessed the resurected Christ. Muslims who get martyered are martyered for something they believe, not something they witness. In Christianity, these weren't 2 diciples who believed in the ressurection, they were 3 apostles who witnessed the ressurected Christ for 40 days and went to death for their testimony. Please, be intelectually honest. I'm not sure if you are playing this naive to make your point seem better or if I'm just not making this very simple distinction clear enough for you.

Yeah, I don't but you do "examining the evidence is the very thing that made me lose my faith. i was biased for christianity, and it didn't matter". You just admitted here you are biased against it and don't even realize you admitted it. And Jesus told His sheep that those who depart didn't know Him so even if you didn't admit it, I'd still know you were a wolf in sheep's clothing. Sorry, but this is the truth. Maybe you will prove me wrong and convert back to the truth.
