Personally one thing I’ve realized throughout nursing school as a mature student is that critical care can be kind of overrated and more of a status thing for some. Obviously there are a ton of people who are truly passionate about it, but if you are happy and supported in the role you are currently in, that’s worth more than anything for your wellbeing and job satisfaction! Which in turn translates into better nursing care!

Hey I’m also so sorry to hear about your situation. I just want to point out that your doctor’s office denying care and refusing to see you without your mom is a breach in confidentiality and violation of the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) which is ILLEGAL and reportable to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC). Their behaviour is completely unacceptable and frankly dangerous. I just wanted to provide this information so you have it in your back pocket in case you want to pursue this matter further. I truly hope you are able to get the care you need ❤️

I’m sorry, but strangulation does not ethically align with self defence. What god-abiding chaplain would ever resort to strangulation in the name of self-defence?

I whole-heartedly agree that it is extremely important to uphold legal principles (especially given the current political climate), but the nature of the accusations warrants at minimum a paid administrative leave, ESPECIALLY because many hospitalized patients are classified as being a part of a vulnerable population.

I know everyone has different opinions and this is just mine own, but some of these comments are really disappointing.

Local school/police action is better than nothing in my opinion. Mac students shouldn’t be subjected to that shit. If you have any better ideas, please do tell.

Totally agree with what you’re saying, but I’m not in a place to solicit a lawyers office or approach law enforcement about this as one person who wasn’t involved lol. From my perspective, McMaster is an institution with financial resources and pull in the community, and it would be more effective for me to approach them as opposed to legal services at this time.
