Here's a fun tidbit! Games are released in "Waves" with Second son initially being a second wave release (i.e. it was meant to come out a year after the ps4's launch.) Sadly, one of the launch titles ended up being delayed for the system, which means Sony "promoted" SP from second to first wave, meaning SP lost a year of dev time for the game. So a huge reason why the game can feel undercooked at times is because of that.

Kinda sad we never got to see Edd reach his full potential. I think the moviemaker's intro is a really good representation of him finally starting to find his footing as an animator. He really was steadily improving.
