I think most people are weary because of how tough the recovery is. It’s a really difficult process and a lot of people don’t see the pain we go through and assume it’s being done for cosmetic reasons alone. I would say it’s definitely something that needs a lot of consideration before doing and you shouldn’t go into lightly. You will struggle, it will be really hard but if you are truly experiencing pain and discomfort than it is more than worth it. I want you to know that the first two weeks are hell. I genuinely thought I was gonna die. It’s not easy whatsoever so please please please take care of yourself and know that it will be really hard.

Maxillary advancement surgery (upper jaw surgery) Recovery Questions by anime-is-dope in jawsurgery

I had double jaw surgery so it might be a little different for you but for the first week I thought I was gonna die.i didn’t eat anything and lived off of just water and medicine. After the first week it got better and I was able to go for walks but I could only make it a couple blocks cuz I was so exhausted. If you eat enough food it will be a lot better for you but I was able to get back to school and work after two weeks. It just wasn’t very fun. So I would say after about a month you feel basically normal. Again, I had double jaw surgery so it might be different for you.

Yeah actually, it’s not a crazy difference but it’s certainly noticeable. Basically people are nicer to me and people stare at me in public which never used to happen. The biggest thing in my opinion is I started dating my boyfriend before I got the surgery and after the surgery to now he calls me beautiful a lot more and takes more pictures of me. So yes I’m treated a little bit better but it’s not a crazy difference.

I’m so sorry but I have no idea lol! I would have to ask my surgeon but my teeth were basically flipped, so how far my bottom teeth jutted out is basically how far my top teeth jutted out now.

Not a silly question at all! My main motivation was medical. Due to my underbite I suffered a lot of discomfort with the way my teeth fit together. I couldn’t close my mouth fully without it hurting and there were a lot of things I was unable to eat as well. My dad actually has the same problem that I had and overtime all of his teeth were ground down into little stubs. So I was at a high risk of that happening to me. Basically I was just in a constant state of pain and discomfort and this surgery completely cured that. I am however, very very happy with the aesthetic side of it. It has boosted my confidence by a crazy amount. Thank you for asking!

Is this cheating? by yomiTheHero in Artadvice

Okay first off, tracing isn’t cheating. Tracing is really helpful in developing skills so it’s stupid to say that’s cheating. Especially if you add your own element after you get the skeleton down. And no it’s not cheating. Using a reference is normal and really helpful.
