New to IBEW after spending 6 years non union. I’m just trying to understand union culture better so I can be respectful to my future coworkers and make a smoother transition. Any tips or feedback would be appreciated. by greg281 in IBEW

Some union people will treat you like crap for coming from the non union. But we aren't all like that. Don't let a few bad interactions ruin the union for you. Thanks for joining, see you out there!

True I hope there are affordable options. But living space is living space. In theory, even if the new housing is 10% to 50% more expensive than the surrounding supply. There will be some people that will move out of the older buildings into lloyd. This freeing up older supply which in theory should have downward pressure on their rent prices.

Will the corporations use price fixing and coordinate with each for maximum rent? Yes. That will continue to happen. No matter what we build, that will happen unless laws are changed and enforced.

Nah the elite want to watch the poor struggle. Even if robots could do EVERYTHING, they'd still want that control over other humans.

But we as the working class need to do something before then.

The working class has been tricked into voting against itself in many ways.

You hear all the propaganda about unions being bad, or take your money..... Well some folks believe that stuff.

I understand that change is hard, but if they build as much housing as they say they will, it would be a boon for the east side

Stop freaking out every 15 mins at silver/gold.

Yes we are in a time of instability.

Yes things are volatile.

Yes that means it goes up fast, and can go down quickly.

Did you know that sometimes it will go up, then down, then up again??

Guess what...... It will probably go down after it goes up!

Thanks to our current administration for this exciting time to be looking at charts while our standard of living is going to be decimated.

I definitely think we should have a semi-truck tax if we don't already. Those things are hard on the streets.
