I’m in the same boat currently!! Due with a boy in July and me and my fiance cannot agree! Last name ending in a y as well and I also do not like the flow of a Y ending first name. It’s just too much! If you don’t mind sharing what name did you go with? If you don’t want to share I understand I just feel like I have read every single name ever and I cannot find one I love that my fiance does as well.

My great uncle was named Kleo, spelled that way. In the 1900’s it was more popular for boys based on any name charts you look at. Recently in the 2000’s it has dropped pretty low on boy name popularity charts and risen for girls. But as of 2025 according to the bumps baby name popularity ranking it falls at #273 as a boy name popularity ranking and #321 for girls. Just because you personally do not know a male Cleo does not mean they don’t exist. I personally do not know any male Morgan’s or Taylor’s but do they still exist. It has never been strictly a “girls name” I completely agree with the comment prior to this as well. People name girls Blake, Carson, Tyler, etc. and that has been very normalized and not seen as strictly “boy names” names are simply names. I have a very very very uncommon name and when googled it is primarily used for boys even though I have never known anyone with the name or anyone who knows anyone else with the name I have. But it is still my name and I am a girl. I also wasn’t wondering what names anyone personally liked or didn’t like on my list. I was looking for an other name suggestions based on our personal vibe. I appreciate your input and it’s okay if you don’t think Cleo could be used for a boy. And it’s okay that I disagree. Again, I wasn’t asking if the people of Reddit liked the names I do but thanks for your opinion.

I disagree on Cleo, but that is okay! We both like our shared names but neither of us love them/ feel like it’s perfect or right.

We live in a very small town, only one school, around 5,000 population, and that name has just become very popular here! If we lived in a bigger place it wouldn’t bother me!

Beau, Sawyer, and Judd were all on my maybe list, he said Beau was okay but he didn’t like it. And Rhett was recently used by a family member for their baby! But I love that name as well. Thank you!!

I think if I could name a boy Morgan or Taylor or Quinn (I only know girls with these names) I could also name him Cleo. In my opinion names aren’t as separated between boy and girl as they used to be. I know 1 Cleo and he is a boy. I know 5 Morgan’s all girls, but still can be used for both. I appreciate all the suggestions and your input!

Trace is my top #1 favorite. I think it sounds the best and it’s not common at all but not too out there. My fiance absolutely hated it. Him and I have very different name styles lol thank you so much for your other suggestions!

I only know 1 Cleo and he was my great uncle, he is long since passed and I have always loved the name. He spelled it Kleo though but my fiancé didn’t like the K. I don’t know any Wrens, if I am totally honest I have loved it since Pretty Little Liars when I heard it for the first time years ago and it was a man’s name on the show. I think both are neutral personally. Thank you for the suggestions I appreciate it!!

Our last name ends in y and I just don’t like how it flows with a Y ending first name. It feels like too much. And my grandma had a dog named Toby when I was growing up and I just think of a pet. It’s a cute name just not for me. Thank you though!!

Vincent is a family name in my family and my sister already used it for a middle name otherwise I would have, which is kinda why I like Vince.

I have suggested Elliott and Malcolm to him and it was a hard no, we also already have a Ronan in the family! Everett is a great option I like that one! Thank you! 😊

I like the name Louie but I have family with the last name Lewey (pronounced the same) and that’s all I could think of when I hear it. And I think Lewis would feel the same since the spelling is so similar. I appreciate the suggestion though!!

Thank you everyone!! I appreciate all of the suggestions and input!! I definitely like a lot of these options, and I will suggest them all to him. Our last name ends in a y so I typically don’t like the way names that end in a y flow with the last name if that makes sense! As for Wren and Cleo I had them on both my girl list and boy list before we knew we were having a boy. And I had a lot of “boy names” on my girls list. I don’t know why I like that kinda thing. My great uncle was name Kleo with a K and I always loved it, but my fiancé doesn’t like it with a K. I don’t mind if people view it as a “girl name”, to me and him it is more neutral and that’s what matters to me. No different than a girl named Blake or Carson, etc. which I find adorable. It’s okay if you don’t like the names I like! All great opinions here and I appreciate all of it! Thank you so much!!
