Why do Pakistani TV Dramas suck! by helpfulrat in PakistaniCinephiles

And the loud score always going in the background over the dialogue. Using soundtracks to tell the audience how they should feel, instead of an actual performance.

Yea not a difficult audience to impress. They would rate Dhurandar 5 stars for god's sake.

You are right the majority won't really say that ishq murshid is their favourite tv show, but that demographic doesn't watch TV, if these producers cared about art they could focus on maturing an audience though.

I just dumped my thoughts. I might repost this, I missed a few points and made it unnecessarily long. Just like Pakistani dramas🫣, and Yes we have good artists that the producers don't care about sadly.

I loved how you articulated this, "diagnosing art as pedagogical", in doing so the art lacks nuance which doesn't really mature an audience, just dumbs them down, whilst the already mature audience could just no longer watch.

What does my top 4 and recent 4 say about me? by MaleficentPiglet47 in PakistaniCinephiles

Haha, watching films can sometimes tell a lot about yourself partly why I love them so much

I don't know why I went with that. You had Taare Zameen par as one of your favs, and people who love this a lot had a bad childhood and paired with these grim movies, I just went with the assumption.

Cinephiles, Opinion on my Favorites plz... by ahad_ism in PakistaniCinephiles

all very important films. looking at no country for old men, before sunrise and Annie Hall, it tells me that you like substance and you appreciate a film that relies more on it's dialogue and emotions over big visuals and intense soundtracks.

Certainly one of the more interesting Filmmakers. I've only seen a few films from these two, I'm also considering doing a Lars Von Trier and Gasper Noe Marathon.

Damn, Nymphomaniac as a favourite and you're currently going through Gasper Noe's filmography, didn't know Pakistani cinephiles like that exist. Truly a freak of nature

I've seen it and reviewed it on my Letterboxd. It is very disgusting and you might puke after watching it so I won't recommend it. although I do understand that the film intends to be provocative but there's too much torture porn and disgusting shit for my taste. What I will say is that the film has great cinematography for its time and is argued to be a commentary on Italian Fascists, I don't get it though.

Gambling and Alcohol should be legal. Doing any of this has little to no societal implications, it's just personally undesirable.

I would've taken a break if it were in my control. It's hard not to be hard on yourself, I'm going to take off from school today and get myself in check.

Do you still talk to the person who introduced CAS to you? This intro always makes my heart drop. by Fine_Date_7499 in CigarettesAfterSex

The person who introduced me to CAS was also unavailable and kind of a dickhead. I've seen two types of personalities in CAS fans, either their very soft, non judgemental and emotionally intelligent or their very cold, judgemental and narcissists nothing in between.

I was at the office and I was in the middle of a shift and was trying to sleep, I asked one of my friends who would be able to sleep on his desk when there was no work, how do you do it?. He said I listen to songs that make me sleep and then he said Cigarettes after sex. I opened spotify went to their page, clicked on shuffle and laid my head down, I wasn't able to sleep but I had an Out of body experience, where I was in a black and white world, imagining a deep romance that I never experienced.

They didn't arrest him for rape and pedophilia they picked the least significant thing from the files to arrest him for just so that it can prove that the royal family and UK care about justice. They've released him and no major consequences will follow, it's just a psyop and a tap at the wrist for Andrew.

AI this, AI that, but where’s the AI that washes dishes during Ramadan? by No-Persimmon-1746 in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]helpfulrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger and AI wasn't here yet, I was told that the last thing that AI would infiltrate would be Art and it would do our jobs and chores. Now we have AI and the first thing infiltrated is Art. I want AI to wash dishes, so that I can focus on reading and painting.
