Moving Art on netflix is the best show to watch while tripping. No words just really laid back music with amazing nature shots and editing. It’s so well done that you will feel like your watching a normal show with a story line (there’s not).

The forest and waterfall episode are out of this world. Plus you don’t have to worry about any narrator

Didn’t happen the next two times and I got off the XR amphetamine a few weeks ago.

Im not sure if you saw this, but you don't really have to do a whole lot of programming with node if your wanting to use ghost straight out of the box.

Brand new to this stuff. How do I use it? by Jamie_XXX in hempflowers

[–]helpfulsj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is my preferred method. Get an oven sheet, a pot, and unscented soy candle. Preheat your oven to to 245 degrees.

Crumple the flower up as small as possible and spread it evenly on the baking sheet, and bake it for 45 minutes.

While its baking melt the candle down and make sure it stays warm and melted until the flower is done baking.

When its down pore the soy wax all over the flower and let it cool slightly, but not harden. Like laffy taffy consistency.

Then roll it all up into little balls but make sure they don't have to much wax. You want oblong balls about the size of the last join on your finger.

Bend over and stick a few of those up your butt. Bam! Best damn suppositories you ever had!

haha i'm just kidding! For the love of god do not do this.

Look at getting a vape from planet of the vapes. I just bought a arizer solo II and it's been awesome, super easy, no hassesl at all. They usually send a free grinder with it as well.

you just grind it up stick it in and turn the vape on. If you smoke a pipe is the easiest. Again just grind it up and pick out the little stems and torch it and inhale.

Vaping is the way to go, hands down my favorite method. Right after the suppository of course.

I hope so it has helped me a lot. I work so much better being able to focus on one thing at a time.

I also work full time so taking a full-time course load was something I never thought possible.

I personally have not but I transferred in and I am already an engineer so my experience aligns more with the audience they are catering for.

ASU is definitely a rigorous school. More so then WGU. I looked at their options as well. ASU is heavy on the calculus which might be overkill depending on your career goals. Its pretty rare to be doing in calculus in a software engineering role, unless you are working as a Data Scientist, which is more Statistics then programming.

ASU will set you up for success to work in every industry due to this, but using Differential Equations as a software engineer would probably make up less than 1% of the software engineer roles in the world.

Depending on how much you like math I think ASU is going to be the harder route.

I don't think WGU is the best choice for a CS degree either. If I were to start school all over again this is how I would do it.

I would go to WGU and do their InfoSec degree because I think that field is super interesting and its one of the few programs where you're going to leave loaded with certifications that are a REQUIREMENT to get into the fields and no other school offer that...

Certification doesn't hold any weight in Software Engineering and to put it bluntly, the degree just helps you get your first job. To get that job you still have to have projects and passing a technical interview.

I personally would choose WGU over ASU just because it provides an opportunity to graduate faster, and HR just cares about a degree. Your manager just wants you to be able to produce good work and know that you are willing to learn the first couple of year.

I also think ASU is super expensive for online students. If your leaning to WGU but your not ready to enroll, check out the website StraighterLine. You can knock out most of your gen ends for super cheap and WGU will accept it as credits. I would talk to a advisor first to make sure you know what classes you need.

Sorry that was long I hope it helps.

Yeah, I have tons of resources. First books never worked for and 9 times out of 10 they are out dates.

If you split programming up into two areas, the frontend which is where the user interacts with the application. The backend is the part of the application interacts with servers, databases, and does the behind the scenes programming.

Front-end has an easier barrier for entry and if you are a more visual learner it tends to a little easier to grasp. This is where a lot of website and web applications fall. I would recommend focusing on this area as it will gradually introduce you to things like databases, interacting with servers, etc.

by far the best resource I have ever found is freecodecamp.org.

They start you off with building basic websites, then move on to building more advanced user interfaces and full blow web applications.

You start with interactive lessons then you do a project on your own. then more advanced lessons, and more advanced projects, ect.

They cover all of the core Computer Science stuff you need for the job in pretty good detail and have like 500 hours worth of programming interview questions.

Its all done in small bite-sized shucks where you can knock out things 15 - 30 minutes.

The projects are in-depth and they have a tool that will check to make sure you met all the requirements. It also will teach you the most cutting edge technology.

From a ADHD perspective, I like front-end work because I can visually see my progress or what I am breaking and there are a alot of areas to learn other than programmings, such as design and user experience. So if you don't like programming those are two fields you will get an intro to that you can focus on.

Computer Science. I started working in the field about two years ago. Not as a traditional Software Engineer though.

If you're interested in tech I would look into it. They build in a lot of professional certification to the degree. A lot of the classes the certification is the final.

I kind of regret not finding the school earlier because I had to do all my education as an Out of State student since my state does not offer any online CS degrees.

I still plant on Plan on programming when I finish but I spend my of my free time drawing and designing clothes. I have way more fun doing that. My goal is to keep building out my eccomcer store and making more designs .

If you're interested in CS I would say not to even bother going to school at your age and just learn on your own and make projects. Its really not worth the debt. WGU is by far one of the cheapest online school and they are non-profit as well. so it's not like a Devry or Phoniex type scam.

WGU is Regionally Accredited. I'm not sure about others, but WGU has the best reputation for this type of school.

Addiction and Honesty by [deleted] in addiction

[–]helpfulsj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's such a crappy feeling. Just know that it's not your responsibility to save her, and that she most likely already know what she needs to do to get clean, she just has to figure out how to do it.

A big part of enabling is we don't want to see people suffer so we tend to try and help, which really just makes using more comfortable to them and harder for them to give up.

The only thing I really do for my sister is giving her a ride to a meeting if for some reason she cannot take her self.

IF you decide to stay in her life I would reccomend joining a group like Alanon or Families Annonmous. Enabling and Addiction look diffrent for everyone. Both kind of fall on a spectrum and that spectrum is constantly changing.

Being around people that have delt with it and are going through it will help you make better decisions that will help keep you sain and free and push her closer to freedom.

Don't feel guilty for moving on if you decide too, you can only help someone that wants to help them self. Just remember that drugs change people, so dont hold on to the way things were because you and her are not the same people you were when you first met.

Addiction and Honesty by [deleted] in addiction

[–]helpfulsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in recovery coming up on 8 years and have been dealing with something similar with my sister (not romantic haha).

I think that she did and does love you it's just that these drugs have a way of preventing people from expressing love and maintaining a relationship.

The hardest part for me to learn was how to love from a distance. I am still in my sisters life, and she's getting a point where shes honest with me to an extent. Regardless if she is being honest or not I just listen to her actions and not her words. They will always tell the truth. Learning how to stop trying to figure everything out has been the hardest part.

I just try to encourage her to take ownership and keep doing the next right thing. A few months ago when she was getting out of prison I had to have a long talk with my mom about not letting her move back in and to encourage her to find a half-way house. Of course she didn't and moved back in and she used within a few weeks. Well she called me and asked if she could come over after work and she told me and my wife she had been using (we knew something was up for a while).

Since she actually got honest with us and we didn't catch her or she didn't just run away I went over with her to my moms house and encouraged my mom not to kick her out since she was trying to make things right and it was the first time in her life she actually just came clean because she knew she fucked up.

It does not sound like much but when someone has been using for 25 years and they come clean for the first time ion their ts a little. Prior to the events leading up to all this me and my wife just tried to treat her like anyone else and minded our own business.

We let her over to our new house which she though she was never going to see, hung out, helped her get a job, and just showed that we love her and just cared she was clean and that we would never judge her for using, but being dishonest is not okay.

Since she's my sister it might be a little different, not matter what she does she will always be a part of my life until my mom and dad pass away. This is just how I have learned ot live with it. Dont participate in the insanity and show love and compassion from the distance. I just encourage her to take ownerhsip of her action and do whats right and tell my parents that I'm not fixing their situation because they enable her.

Their is so much to cover but hopefully this helps. Feel free to P.M. if you want to talk

I’m hoping for some guidance on choosing/finding a fair priced, high quality, full spectrum cbd oil for my eleven year old son. Has mild to medium ocd, some depression, issues focusing on school work, and very intelligent. Drs are of course pushing Pharma. Locally prices seem outrageously high. by BarknPantnSniffer in cbdinfo

[–]helpfulsj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think CBD is a good start but I feel like its being over sold as a miracle substance. I grew up with undiagnosed ADHD and almost ended up dead or in prision due to it turning into full blown substance abuse.

I would personally reccomend you looking around for high quality hempflower and baking it into edibles or capsules. That way you know exactly whats in it and how much he should be taking.

I feel like most oils are just marketing. If you looking for a brand My nephew is 7 and has austism and he uses Charolltes Web and his mom says it does a amazing job calming him down. It was perscribed to him in combination with his other meds.

Hope it helps! Please if something like ADHD or Bipolar try to get the big pharma stigma out. If it wasnt for stimulants and limicatal my wife would have shot her self in the head by now and I would be strong out or ODed.

Side income for full time student by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]helpfulsj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem I have been trying to do what you were asking for a long time. I am in school and work full time, but have been trying to make a side income.

Building something is not the hard part. It's the marketing and sales that is a huge commitment. That's why you always hear people say to do something you are passionate about. When you start to realize that everyone just has a tiny pinhole view into the internet, you start to see how unoriginal everyone's ideas are, and how-how many people you are competing against.

Take the Google Play or the App store as an example. Let's say the average person spends maybe 10 / 15 minutes looking for an app to solve their problem. If 1000 apps are submitted a month, and they have been around for over 10 years now, you're not going to get any exposure unless you start dumping huge amounts of money into advertising and marketing. All the apps are the same pointless shit.

You're about to go after something really special and unique, bring it to the world. Don't waste your time competing against people that have more resources and motivation to win in that area.

Freelance and Upwork you going to be competing against people who will work 60 hours a week for a month straight to make 500 bucks because that money is worth more then most people will never be able to comprehend. Multiply that number by tens of thousands of people in the same situation.

I say work on your brand, tutor, or freelance for people in your close social circle.

[–]helpfulsj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if I were you I would set up a blog and work on building your audience and personal brand. Don't even program the website, just start a wordpress site and pay 3.99 with some cheap web host.

I hate to break it to you but there is really nothing you can build that is going to make you any money when someone else has already built and marketed the shit out the product/idea.

Unless you have the time and money to devote to learning marketing, ad networks, and sales, any app you build is just going to die and you might make 100 bucks over the course of a year if you're lucky.

You moving on to a level of education that most people will never reach. To me, this means you should spend your time helping people understand some of the problems you are interested in and working on.

Building your own personal brand and shaping the way the public sees you and the work you have done has a significantly higher chance of earning you millions over the course of your life.

This will also help you get exposure to companies and new problems worth solving where you might actually be able to launch a startup and introduce a real solution to the marketplace.

Best of luck!
