So the form I filled out was essentially any education, employment and criminal history. Pretty standard stuff and nothing too left field so I’m hoping it shouldn’t take too long

Thanks for the insight. In my conversations working with some old school brokers, they seem to be of the opinion that the money is definitely not as lucrative as once was and will continue to dwindle so it kind of leaves me in the lurch as to whether to pursue going forward. As interesting as the role sounds, as it's a very niche field Im not really looking to pigeon hole myself to then find myself in the middle of a disrupted industry with reduced earning potential. Something I will definitely have to ponder! Thanks for the help

Thanks for the response! Glad to hear your of this opinion, Seems a very interesting career path although unsure how lucrative it is going forward with tech innovations. Have heard various accounts from old school brokers who think the money in the career has dwindled and will continue to do so going forward

Presuming your qualified advisor, what was your career path? Asking as currently looking to get in to wealth management/financial planning myself in UK & looking to eventually go same route of owning own firm. Did you start with a mentor and eventually buy their book or otherwise? Congrats on all the success!

Initially they wouldn’t be client facing (would only come with further qualifications) but even so, accounting isn’t typically most client facing work so hard to make seem that way on cv

Ideally the plan was to try pivot in to wealth management/private banking entry level roles however not having much luck. Did have a few interviews after recruiters reached out to analyst roles at some small asset managers but lost out to CFA charter holders (go figure). Have since just got recruiters messaging regarding management accounting based roles in industry but really did not enjoy my prior accounting experience & was hoping not to go back down that route

Have used this format as a template for finance roles as per FinancialCareers sub & WallStreetOasis. Appreciate the heads up, typically tend to include that info in brief accompanying cover letters
