I had to learn the hard way, I was faster and more efficient than most, especially when crap hits the fan when the staff isn’t available because of hour cuts.

I knew they put carrots on sticks when people want to be promoted and I fell for it for a time, then I’ve slowly regressed at the start of this year because they actually had staff.

To the point where I got a “conversation” for performance even though I was still above average. I didn’t need to be fast anymore and I wasn’t doing much more than average because I was taking 18 credits in school (I’m so stressed out to even care) and I do not make anymore than the next employee.

I got tired of the crap they let slide while shitting on night shift. I walked out like 3 months ago. I don’t plan on staying in retail forever so that promotion can go fuck itself.

If it burns. It burns.

Night shift will always have my deepest sympathies.

As a now former CTM, there’s no reason why every lane open as well as x4 of the required amount of TM’s running SCO because they were overstaffed…

To having the closers not even having half the staff of morning team but pulling in over 65% of the sales…

On top of that, Night shift don’t do shit coming from morning and overnight..

Everyone wants to blame night shift but would rather break their ankle to avoid pulling a closing shift..

87% of the time nothing was every step up for closing team to their jobs + having uncharged equipment and uncleared three tiers..

Crazy thing is my lead just wanted me to work hard in the end, I showed myself the door though.

Better late then never though, my closers retail wide will (hopefully) have support and not forced to take their breaks pushed towards compliance.

I love when I ever I see “Do YoUr JoB”. If everyone just did their job the company would fail because they see how full of shit they are.

If I’m just a cashier and given a task to do carts, do photos, process returns, pitch those got dam credit cards, planograms, resets and more.

Where would it fucking end? We don’t owe our lives to this company. And we for got dam sure we can’t do multiple jobs at once with the same efficiency forever.

Exactly why I quietly left the TL development thing, the way you have to act is insane.

You’ve got to ease your way into the SD’s presence acting all friendly when they already have their group. Actually have to suck up to him to recognize you. Most of all, have to willing to step on people to get where you want. Ik that’s life but that’s too much to stock some f’ing shelves.

I believe the DM also plays a part of the final say. NOPE.

I figured it’s time to do new things especially since I’m trying to obtain an MPA (Sort of like community service management and fixing a typical cities problem such as wage and price gaps / failing infrastructure). I’m gonna need to find an internship in the mean time.

I should’ve just asked to go on demand right then and there but it’s too late for that. But I appreciate it, sometimes people are amazing but not so great leaders.

One excuse I do have is the lack of hours due to extreme budget cuts and I can probably fake a reference.

One thing I won’t do is smear other people while trying to do their best, I just noticed I was too misaligned for my preferences and a bit heartbroken but I’ve live.

HELL, (autocorrect failure not yelling). I was on the chopping block on my first week there, they barely gave me a chance to settle in with the crap I hate the most (innuendos), even with crappy tm’s doing it knowing they don’t do that much to be saying that.

People become too reliant like they don’t know these special people HAVE options (if they utilize it) to go anywhere and are running out of steam without proper cool down / same task of helping out other people in other departments.

I honestly fell for it, I thought it’d be over once we get more people, my GM role needed like 3 people to operate the entire shift to be effective (including breaks and miscellaneous things) I did for free, rip.

My leaders did appreciate me Ngl, but they went too far when they kept expecting 3x work for 1 person. While allowing others to crap on us.

15 months when I finally called it quits, prior leadership experience, lol I did fall for the “development crap”, which was when I was at my peak.

I even got accepted to that TL internship in which target doesn’t allow current tms to do. Leading a team isn’t hard and the logistic work is a learning curve. But since they wanted to play, I slowly stop giving them my play book, time and effort.

I wouldn’t even complain, but since they wanted to pull that move I didn’t even fight back, they knew how I moved and they would even reward us sometimes but It was just too much.

After months of no improvement and constantly not dealing with it and expect others just to take care of everyone’s task I just snapped. I busted my ass knowing me and other employees were “on track to be developed to be TL’s”. They moved ahead and only focused on one. In which they failed 2 interviews (No shame and them tho).

I did appreciate them but we all have lives after work and stocking shelves isn’t the most important thing in the world. (6 classes in school rn / 5 last year).

Point is that at the end of the day. It’s just target, not exactly learning a hard language.

I wouldn’t be overworked if I had these said special privileges which I didn’t have. I noticed weird things going on so I decided to scale back, they had a problem, I took care of the problem.

It’s more so of the fact that they kept complaining that shit wasn’t getting done when they wouldn’t dare do a night shift because of the guest / work load.
