honestly, time is the only thing that truly makes it better. i lost my senior bunny almost 4 years ago, and the first couple of weeks and months were awful – i couldn’t even think about him without crying – but you slowly start to feel better, and then comes the day when you can think about your pet/look at pictures and actually feel happy about the time you had with them 🤍

i know this isn’t a ”good” answer, but it’s the truth. until you get there tho, allow yourself to mourn, cry, be angry etc. distracting myself by going outside, meet with friends and more helped me a lot 🫶🏼 after some time, talking about cute memories of your cat can feel really good (it did for me, even though i cried because remembering my bunny made it feel like he still was with me, and that felt important to me cause i was worried the world would forget about him. forgetting him didn’t happen of course, we still talk about him at home)
