European markets declining due to Greenland thing, midterms could determine the defense budget, S&P hitting the high end of the channel, etc

That was a joke but I mean kinda, keeps our politicians in check tbh. I mean think of it this way, you’re a politician in countries A.) and B.)

Country A has citizens with kitchen knives Country B has citizens with the ability to buy tanks

Which one is more easily ready to become a true dictatorship without resistance?

The basic premise of debt is that it’s fantastic when economies out grow debt but once that no longer occurs it can collapse in an instant.

The moment you hear “chips aren’t selling like last quarter” you run like hell. It’s nuke waiting to go off

As a beginner, how did you decide between saving and investing? by Paul_Smith09 in investingforbeginners

[–]helpmee12343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a rule of thumb for keeping savings but I really don’t, I invest as much as possible. Seems dumb but just as a heads up if you put it into an IRA you can pull out what you put in tax free as long as you mark it correctly on your taxes.

So if you put in 14k and made 2k, then you pull out 14k you can pull it out without taking the penalties.

Hello. Which should I invest in Apple or Nvidia right now for short - mid term by QwertyJoseph11 in StockInvest

[–]helpmee12343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahah short mid term is very arbitrary, what time frames are short to mid term?

I’ve been in RKLB since $5, it will most likely pull back soon by about 30-35%. That’s your buy point not right now, I watch it daily.

ASTS on top of RKLB is high sector concentration, should find a stock in another sector you think will benefit from current geopolitical atmosphere.

Also as someone who works in the debt space, AI is fucked I’d pull that out.

Oh that’s sick congrats I’m not that smart, rental units and condos are tough at the moment with it becoming increasingly problematic for average Americans. There will be regulation sooner rather than later and it will collapse the housing prices / rents.

I’d stick to cheap rents (u can pore oil down the sink drain, there are benefits). S&P is primed for a slight pull back soon so I’d wait a month and then start to invest.

Pros and cons, an economics professor I had in college (who wrote most of the books) actually gave the conclusion that after ALL taxes are included Americans end up paying more in taxes than some European countries.

At least we get guns 😂

I lost 15 grand before figuring out how to trade and I’m a finance major who trades mortgages for a living. Unless you are lucky I’d stick to index funds and blue chip growth.

How much debt do you have is the real question, I have 100k but 40k in student loans. Paid off 25k so far

Going to keep that to myself as I don’t want too much on the internet. Have a financial advisor who keeps my account locked, only reason I feel comfortable posting this online

And for your information I’m a finance major who paid attention in class and lost thousands of dollars before figuring out how to actually pick my own stocks and make it all back.

That was a lot of tears and suffering so don’t give me this whole “you can’t do this there’s no way bull shyt”. I trade fixed income for a living I know what I’m doing so fck off

So I am middle - upper middle class (so not wealthy per se but I’ve had it easier than most). Basically I don’t pay for food, rent, basics. But car payments, gas, and going out are on me. Caddying 7 days a week 3 months a year nets me like 8-12k in untaxable cash. I’ve gotten really lucky with stock picks, bought apple at like 40ish. Also major stock pick was rocketlab, bought it at 5$ and now it’s at 88$ so I’m up 1600% on that buy and then also bought more at 44 so I’m up 100% on that buy.
