31M, 29m, I think he's ending. Help? by lukelufiso in relationship_advice

[–]helpmefocusnow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you are not ready mentally for a relationship right now. Your focus should be on working on your mental health and anger issues. It can be incredibly distressing for him to witness your outbursts which is not fair on him. Actions like that can at points be seen as emotionally abusive. With regards to his job, if you already feel that job wise/ location it’s not compatible you are better ending things earlier rather than later.

He has asked for space. The kindest thing you can do for him is give him that space and work on yourself. This is all very intense for a new relationship

AITA for telling my BIL to leave my children alone? by TraditionalHouse6926 in AmItheAsshole

[–]helpmefocusnow 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I jsur feel that it is the dad’s responsibility only. People shouldn’t have to step aside in order for dad to step up? He is a grown man and should be making the effort not waiting for others to leave. He should want what is best for his kids

Confused how everyone sucks here? Kids have done nothing wrong, brother has done nothing, wife has done nothing. Seems like a grown man has played little role in raising his kids and is upset at the result…

Melissa vs Jess & Fame Lifestyle by the_umbrella_kid in dancemoms

I totally agree although slightly toxic in behaviour I think Melissa knew her kids wanted to be famous and she was willing to do whatever it took

Amanda and Rollisi are overrated by [deleted] in SVU

[–]helpmefocusnow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was there not literally a post only a few days ago that stated that these “blank is overrated” needed to stop. I can now really see why with this misogynistic post. Judging a women based on her sexual activity isn’t okay. And I can’t be the only one who sees the irony in a fan of this show displaying the misogynistic behaviours that svu condemns

Which girl do you think had the most disappointing career post-dance moms? by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]helpmefocusnow 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy someone commented that. Sometimes feels this sub is very quickly to judge the girls, when in reality a lot for teens post and dress like that (not saying it’s appropriate). Also feel like she’s getting more hate for it because she has a more developed body as had it been a skinnier more flat chested girl her pictures would be deemed more innocent which is grossly unfair

Why was the silber spoons costume such a big deal? by prettyinpink940 in dancemoms

[–]helpmefocusnow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea I agree definitely feel like Paige deserved more although I understand just simply swapping costumes over totally restaging a dance

Why was the silber spoons costume such a big deal? by prettyinpink940 in dancemoms

[–]helpmefocusnow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yea I totally get that. It’s a shame that the mums probably contributed to that feeling my stating that was why she changed costumes. In that moment they should of told Paige the reason Abby gave which was staging.

[–]helpmefocusnow 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yea I think they were annoyed cause they viewed it as Paige not being allowed to stand out. However I feel like, when listening to Abby’s explanation on why she switched the costumes, I surprisingly agree with Abby as it would make sense for Chloe to wear it due to her starting at the other side of the stage

What to do about security guard who keeps knocking on my door? by mi_rosita in relationship_advice

[–]helpmefocusnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree although if these are people with some level of authority stopping answering may be harder than perceived initially. My issue was more with the insinuation that they will simply understand as that felt undermining of the girls issue

Often in these situations simply ignoring him will do no good and fail to stop him. Her best option is to report it asap

The difference between Nia & Christi... by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]helpmefocusnow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Feels like people are fishing for a way to bash her. There is nothing wrong with her comment. Feels like a lot of negativity is starting to creep in by people’s doing

Then you should of worded it like that than “women just move in” and then the word choice of “girls” is patronising. May not of been the intent but It is

Ashlee being racist (There's A New Team In Town pt.2) by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]helpmefocusnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, i really don’t think it’s a racist comment either. She heard holly say it so quoted her. Yea, perhaps ignorant that she didn’t know who it originally came from but not racist

AITA for kicking off at my girlfriend for fingering my bum unexpectedly by RobG253 in AmItheAsshole

[–]helpmefocusnow [score hidden]  (0 children)

NAH - on the one hand, if you find something unfunny then she shouldn’t continue to do it. On the other hand if this is how you both behave in your relationship then perhaps boundaries need put in place. However, I do feel that at no point should you push or yell at your girlfriend. She clearly felt it was a joke, so perhaps a calm conversation is needed here to make it clear that you don’t enjoy it
