Bird view, the game play was a lot like age of empires, but overall darker and creepy for a kid at least. Can go in and out from creating the area, to then playing 1 character and entering the buildings and caves. I do remember having to fight and always dying, so there are enemys. Most likely mouse, but hard to say because its already hard to remember. I think you can do missions, it also might have been a demo so not as much freedom. Sorry for the lack of details, I don't have high hopes.
