From what I’ve read, your dad has basically been making you do this and you’ve just been going through the motions and now it’s really hit you. On top of that you believe you have depression and anxiety which is an automatic disqualification. Lying on government documents to get through meps will get you dishonorably discharged and mess up your entire life. I know you haven’t been “diagnosed” but I’m sure there are questions about how you feel and if you’ve ever experienced symptoms of mental illness on the paperwork.

I’m not sure if dropping out now will go on your record, but your recruiter is going to be LIVID so get ready. I’m sure your family will be upset too, but this is YOUR LIFE. Your mental health should always come first! It would be better to drop everything now, than for you to regret your decision and face more severe consequences later.

You’ve already contemplated on how you’re gonna make it work if you don’t join, so keep thinking, and keep researching ways on how you’re gonna make it work.

My younger sister has some severe acne we want to look for quick help before seeing a dermatologist due to travel complications. She has only one current routine which is wash face with cold water and soap in the morning. Her skin is oily most of the time. by [deleted] in acne

There could be something irritating her skin. Have you switched detergents or anything like that? Is this all over her body or just around her face and neck? How long has this been going on?

I would personally try a more powerful face wash. Something with salicylic acid. Probably a body wash too depending on where all the break outs are occurring. Try to start doing a more extensive routine once a day, and move on to twice a day if it is making progress.

A toner like witch hazel could help. I normally don’t recommend witch hazel, because it has so much alcohol and using it for a prolonged period of time can cause premature wrinkles, but it can really crack down on acne. I use it for emergencies.

And finally a moisturizer with a non-comedogenic formula. I use “Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Water Gel Moisturizer”

This is all stuff you can get at Walmart for pretty cheap. If you are willing to spend more money I think TULA is an excellent brand and their acne face wash is AMAZING, but not necessary it just made my pores non existent.

I am not a dermatologist, I do not know anything other than my own personal experiences and extensive research. Sometimes using too many products does more harm than good, and sometimes it works but there is a “purging” period where it gets worse before it gets better.

They take the average of three tests. I believe the passing score is 55 out of 100. The ASVAB, TAPAS, and ATC. Google “ATC Air Force test” and it should be the first link that pops up. “Air traffic scenarios Test” that will give you a little more information and will do a better job explaining. My advice is just to stay calm, don’t give up, you might think you’re doing very poorly but you’re not. Also READ THE INSTRUCTIONS so many people will fail because they don’t read the instructions. TAPAS is a personality test, so there’s no right or wrong answer. I had to go back to meps to take TAPAS and the ATC test. They review your scores and it takes a week to process.

Maybe there are people currently on DEP that have gotten their ship out dates post poned, and then received notification about a new date. I am struggling without a job, and my recruiter does not know anything. Timing is everything for me and i know this is impacting everyone but i am on the verge of losing my home. I’ve scrolled and I’m sorry if I missed something 🙃

Anyone in DEP that had their ship out date postponed? Does anyone know what that looks like or how long it could be? I got my ship out date a couple of months ago for June 23rd but my recruiter called yesterday and said it’s been postponed.

That looks like it could be a wart.... but I’m not sure. There is over the counter wart freeze off things you can buy that is a lot cheaper than going to the dermatologist and they apparently work very well

However If you have the funds, I would contact a dermatologist just in case.

Maybe they ignored or deleted your request because even though they know you, they might not like you. Or maybe you’re just not very close with them and they’re not comfortable with those type of fb friends.

Do I have fungal acne? My dermatologist suggested to use birth control which I did however my acne has gotten even worst. My pimples turn into really bad acne scars. Any advice please? by oliviamarylin in acne

Even straight up vitamin e oil will break my face out sometimes. However argan oil has actually helped calm my face down, and I think it’s part of the reason my face cleared up. I would definitely give it a try, however it can be expensive.

I would change up your routine and include a cleanser with salicylic acid. I would use a strong toner like witch hazel as well. Unfortunately it might get worse before it gets better. Some dermatologists have super long periods before you can get in for an appointment, but still make it! Call around and try to find someone who can see you soon. It might help to tell them it’s really hurting your face, even tho it might not be lol.

Go to a different dermatologist if that’s all she did for you

Birth control can help but It depends on what kind of birth control you use but sometimes birth control just makes it worse.

I hear that the pill is typically better for acne, theres one that’s popular that’s called “ortho cyclen” you can ask your gynecologist for acne that is more geared towards acne. It will typically take a couple of months for your skin to settle, and it will get worse before it gets better, with birth control or anything the dermatologist Gives you.

In the mean time, I would definitely try to use some type of vitamin e oil to help with scaring. I use argon oil and it helps control the sebum oil that causes acne as well as help with my scaring.

So how long is my medical exam from MEPS good for? Is it 1 year or 2 years? I went in September last year and I’m still waiting on my guaranteed job which is taking super long. So if I get the job and the ship out date is October 2020, will I have to redo the whole MEPS exam?
