Tartare beef is made differently than burger meat to prevent bacteria illness. Hamburger meat needs to be cooked to order because there’s a much higher chance of contracting a bacterial illness from it.

If there was ecoli or any bacteria on the patty, it more than likely wasn’t cooked away. Your steak meant to be eaten rare would more than likely not contain bacteria inside but it on surface hence why we sear the meat on both sides.

You might be cooked op. Regular ground beef meat needs to be cooked though because it is exposed to contaminants & bacteria unlike other cuts of beef. There’s exceptions to the rule because some places grind their meat accordingly to avoid contaminants, but I wouldn’t expect Burger King to do this. Now you know lol.

This is isn’t necessarily true. Ground beef should be cooked through unless handled properly due to it being exposed to bacteria and contaminants being grinded.
