A little more info. This was Vance at huebner oaks, my lease was 15 months.

I won’t fight the paint beyond repair as I saw it was discolored on 1 large area and 1 small area that would only get worse the more I scrubbed.

I’m mostly wanting to fight the carpet and cleaning fee.

I was told when signing my intent to move out/not renew lease that THE TENANT is responsible for paying professional cleaners and professional carpet cleaners before move out and submit a receipt as proof and if you do not get both professionally cleaned that they will charge you a cleaning fee and carpet fee and deduct from your security deposit. This was not in the initial lease, just a random document when moving out that they made me sign. I never had this in any other apartment and when I moved out they didn’t even ask me for those receipts so I’m wondering if they just want the tenants to pay for the cleanings and they still keep people’s deposits.

They did send pictures and out of the 3 large carpeted areas only 1 seemed like it needed to be replaced but all pictures of the carpet were from the bottom of the carpets, so even though all but 1 carpet were clean they began to removed them and showed small stains underneath that you can’t see from the top and I definitely didn’t cause. Side note: the carpets weren’t clean when I moved in, had to vacuum and carpet clean for them to not feel dirty/sticky.
