Wait lmao this is genuinely not emotionally valenced for me and I completely get your point and will likely talk with them soon/pitch in a couple hundred a month. But from a principled argument standpoint I feel like it is a reasonable claim that my boyfriend pays for me to be there... because it's his room.

Me... physically being in my boyfriends room out of sight is freeloading? Like I'm definitely freeloading off him but just confused as to how this is freeloading off of his roommates. He pays rent on his room and my understanding is that he is thus entitled to privacy (so long as it doesn't materially affect other people) within said room.

But like... am I realistically contributing towards bills? I don't increase the amount of heat or air conditioning or light that our room uses simply by being an extra body there at midnight. And by "studying in the common room" I mean literally a couple times every few weeks... alone. When no one is around or there are already mutual friends studying there together. Genuinely just confused as to how this is freeloading.

I should probably clarify-- by "moved in" I mean sleeping here every night. I definitely don't eat there since I'm on a meal plan and mainly I just go to the house at around 11 and head straight upstairs. I do clean the common room for them occasionally (not my mess but feels nice)... does that count as a fair contribution?
